Re: Why not Rocky, Lever, Kelly and Whitfield?
Whitfield is an interesting prospect. I'd be most keen on him coming to the club. We wouldn't need to sell the farm to get him, he grew up on the peninsula so he is local and he is apparently mates with a few on our list. Whilst being signed up to GWS for 2018 he wouldn't be the first player to want...

Re: Ablett ruled OUT
Very bad news for Ablett. First off we need to win but just as importantly gain %. I'm sick of the 3-4 goal wins as well. So many games in recent times we have posted a solid lead and either let some junk goals through like the North Melbourne game or even worse start lairising with the ball and let...

Re: Mc Cartin ITK feedback on his diabetes problems
I also have a small background in strength and conditioning, that is a fair assessment on the issues facing Paddy. I believe it wii be an ongoing challenge but can be managed. He can play elite football with a similar build to Jeremy McGovern. Pre season training each year will be vital. I think bac...

Re: Longer - say it loud and proud
I'm not a Longer fan at all. When he does somehow end up with the ball the opposition know that he is going to handball to a nearby midfielder behind and immediately set up for it. I believe the bulldogs left Longer on his own as they were very likely to get the ball back if he is disposing it via h...

Re: Craig Davenport, is his club legacy the best of all time
I stand corrected. It was Mark Browning who hit him. That would be right about the 11 goals.Selhurst Saint wrote:In his first reserves game he kicked 11 goals on Mark Browning in Sydney. I also believe he actually stood out of football as a junior because he wasn't zoned to St.Kilda but wanted to play for us.

Re: Craig Davenport, is his club legacy the best of all time
According to my old man he had his jaw smashed to pieces by a Sydney player (Rod Carter or Bolton) in the reserves when he was young and was never the same. He was certainly a talent and a lovely kick for goal, kicked the winner "Craven's on his own in the goal square" after the Ken Sheldo...

"I like Daniel McKenzie"
I Drove home tonight feeling absolutely flat after watching us go backwards and sideways with no system or risk for 2 hours today. Why bother having goals up at Seaford. Nobody wants to back themselves when within range and our game plan right now appears to be do not go anywhere near the centre squ...

I'm with apples on this one. Staggering that the same umpires could be assigned a saints game together again. I hope the supporters give them a warm reception when they come out onto the ground.

Re: What's the ceiling for Seb Ross?
Armo worries me a little. He has been one of my favourites and an absolute warrior for the team. He is 28 and never been blessed with pace. Due to his hardness over the years he has had a lot of collision injuries. He could go quickly 31-32 like Stephen Powell, Luke Ball etc. I see a role for him ne...

Re: Proven again tonight!!!!!
I think the thing that people don't understand is due to all the academy picks, Franklin/Tippett type recruits etc they know every year they are quite likely to have struck gold with high picks. This puts them in an almost no lose situation to take lots of risk with latter picks. They can keep churn...

Re: Where were we, Sainters? Disappointing crowd.
I was trying to work out why are attendances are so low. I've been going for nearly 30 years and have attended most games this season. The trains are absolutely a reason especially when it's live on channel 7. Last night was the first time I've thought why bother. Our players and club in general are...

It wont be a finals like game if north overcome Hawthorn during the day.

Maverick Weller
Absolutely love this bloke, not the most talented player on our list but he is so passionate about our club and his footy. A bomber supporting mate of mine views him as an integral part of our club and says he is a bit of a barometer. When Mav plays well we generally do. He is one of those guys that...

Re: Anyone at the game see this?
I did see this happen. It was half time outside aisle 35 bottom concourse. I was with the old man and a mate having a conversation about how woeful we were playing and out of the corner of my eye I saw the paramedics about 5 metres away, assumed someone was having a medical issue as I could see a wh...

Re: Freeman Again
Some of our work with Richmond in recent times has been atrocious. How about these gems, Robert Powell, Danny Ryan, Aaron Fiora, Dean Polo, Adam Pattison. Picking up discards from other clubs rarely does you any good. Generally they have flaws and there is a reason clubs try and offload them. When i...

Freeman Again
Reports coming out tonight that Freeman has had another setback and won't play for another 1-2 weeks. The club is relieved that it is not as bad as first thought. I'm absolutely bullish about this bloke and was happy to part with this years 2nd round pick for him. I hope this is not a sign of things...

Re: April 17, 1993 @ Vic Park - Who was there?
Was there as a 10 and a half year old on the outer wing to the right of the cheersquad with the old man and a few of his mates. They would have consumed quite a few beers throughout the day and were quite vocal. Can remember the day vividly, we came back for the game from Gafferney's Creek up bush. ...

Re: THE MCEVOY TRADE
The McEvoy trade was a very smart move by both clubs. Hawthorn desperately wanted someone to release Hale forward. We had Hickey coming through, the big problem we could have run into is whilst rebuilding McEvoy would have become a free agent, we would of then run the risk of loosing him for stuff a...

Re: Eddies fixture.
The AFL need to arrange for Eddie to be drug tested or get his head checked. I'm not fan at all, you would have situation's down the track of teams who are around about the 10-11th best team (possibly us) or in a rebuilding stage trying to "list manage" at about round 12-13 realising a pre...

Re: Best 5 home and away wins of the modern era
My memory can be hazy at times but I'll bring up a couple of left field games from 1992 to 2003 that people may have forgotten about. 1992 - Rd 12 Saints 10.17.77 vs Pies 11.10.76 huge Queens birthday crowd remembered for a half time brawl time and the infamous Ken Sheldon spray to Devenport. He end...
