Re: 5 Elite Players Short

The Bulldogs won a premiership - that makes a lot of their players elite in my book. And the way they did it was reminiscent of the Adelaide 97-98 team. Even in some ways the Brisbane team of the early 2000s who never actually dominated any season but won important finals interstate. When you think...

I think he's referring to how Armo modelled his game on Jordan Lewis from the Hawks (now Dees) last year when he had his breakout season.

Re: Cam O'Shea

Completely agree with the idea of a potential replacement for Dempster. Costs us nothing, so if it doesn't work out no drama. Little risk and potentially a decent reward. In terms of younger players, we lack depth here I think. So a yes for me, as the price is right.

Armitage-Lewis x2

Been thinking over the last few days of another few examples of who our younger players could model themselves on to take them to the next level. Acres and Fyfe has been mentioned a couple of times, but I've come up with another couple and interested to hear other's thoughts or additional suggestion...

Re: Shenton wins Sandy B&F

I like him. I can see him playing the role that Nathan wright played for us this year, but he could do so with a bit more nouse. Reads the play well and leads really well. I think he would make a dynamic addition to our forward line plus have the ability to play back in the case Of an emergency. I h...

Jaxons, you made your reputation here rightly calling the McEvoy trade a long time before it happened. Since then you've been playing your cards close to your chest, rightly so, but this limb you've gone on is a real test. If Leverde does nominate the saints, I can see this forum having to change i...

Re: Blake on his development- article

Just a sneaky thing ive found with blake is that hes very hard to tackle. yeah hes been pinged a few times for holding the ball but most of the time he gets his hands free and allows him to move the ball on. The maverick weller goal against the dons? is a prime example of acres slippery abilities. ...

Re: What the hell is wrong with Bruce?

I think I've posted something similar to this before, I think his issue over the last month or so is obvious. It appears to me that he is getting to the same number of contests and contesting vigorously, as he always done. However, I think he is hitting the footy with hard hands as opposed to soft ...

Re: On the couch

Yes, Hickey Ross and Steven have now established themselves in our stoppage set up for sure. I wouldn't mind seeing Weller in there too, because he is a contest beast and can also take off on the outside, unlike Dunstan, Armitage etc. Great call, I've been thinking this for a while and have noted n...

Re: Sliding doors - we cleared Rhys Stanley

I'll be happy if Goddard turns out as handy as Rhys... Because I have my reservations about his mobility Agree that his mobility ain't great, but he needs to grow into his body... As weird as that sounds. He was elite at 16 then had a growth spurt meaning that he had to adapt to the new body, wait ...

Best young forward line

Ok, so still high off the win, but bare with me. What are other's views on our forward line. Im of the opinion that of all the up and coming teams we have the best young forward line as a package. Not many are ever going to go missing because they work so damn hard and love the contest. It is a real...

Re: Mav Weller has big moments...

There was a moment after he kicked a goal in the third thanks to Gresh and after he went up to him and just eyeballed him saying that's how you play football. He is tough and the ultimate club man.the thing I love is his improvement. He was such a crap kick at the start of last year, but has turned ...

Just finished watching the replay. Josh Bruce works so bloody hard. He reminds me of a young rooey trying so hard and getting no protection no frees. I reckon I've been hard on him. Re: Luke Delaney

I thought overall his game was good but he needs to affect a few more contests. There was an example in the third where he just wasn't ferocious enough and they got a goal because of it. If he can add a bit more aggression to his game I'd undoubtedly say keep him. He needs a bit of Maxy in him. But ...
