50 Years since the 62 Sandy Premiership

Great article about the famous 44 points behind at 3/4 time comeback.

Sandy stormed home led by a fired up Bob Murray to win by a point.
The first of his two famous 1 point results.

If you are lucky enough to get the Bayside Leader they have the same article but scrapped the John Mennie photo and gone with a great photo of Bob and a small team photo.

I know it's not footy, but it reminds me of a cricket game Aust vs NZNat the G.NZ all out for 199 in a 50 over game. We left early coz we thought it all over. A friend rings us up and Ssaids, man the atmosphere must be awesome, we're like....ummm we are at the local video store getting some DVD's....umm no ain't. The kiwis had bowled out the Aussies for even less - very surprised. My brothers had stayed on for the match....so we never leave.....oh yeah one exception 2010 GF replay.

Sandy beat Moorabbin in 1962. Sandy unfurled their premiership flag in 1963.

Moorabbin beat Sandy in 1963. They did not unfurl their premiership flag until 1983, because the Moorabbin Council gave their ground to St Kilda Football Club. Having nowhere to play they folded for twenty years.
