VFL Final Qualifications

Post: # 1570705Post CURLY »

Anyone know how many games players need to play for Sandy to qualify for finals and if there's a cut off for Saints players returning.

If it's the same as NEAFL, I'd say 6. That's my best bet,

.

last one is interesting-- so it hawks or cats or pies made a REALLY good submission the rules could be bent..

minor adjustments from the previous years http://www.foxsportspulse.com/assoc_pag ... sID=223956

but would think the basis remains

must have played after July 1st and at least 6 games

So how many actual saints players can play in the team for finals? Is there a quota or something?

Only an agreement with us and Sandy. All 22 could be saints if Sandy agreed but I think its about 13 9 at the moment or close to it.

For example if we had a 16 players available to play but could only select 13 as you say, would we select sippos markworth white over other boys who have been there all year to see how they go as they are all out of contract..

Not a hope. In the finals it will be based purely on form otherwise Sandy would sue us.

Would the saints let hughie and paddy play even if they played the remained of the games in the senior or wrap them up for pre season..

They would let them play IMO.

That list should go close.

Might sound a bit contradictory but I think if players are dropped just to qualify then we have some real issues. The seniors should always come first. Sandy would have no say in that though where as they would have a say in players like siposs playing in the finals.

I would not be dropping players just so sandy have a chance of making the finals. The more experience in the seniors the better.

But it will be interesting to see when our season finishes if paddy and hughie in particular play in the finals for them
