Re: Team v Suns
I sure as hell hope Steven is 100%. I haven't been impressed by the way we've returned some of our injured players too soon this year when there is no point in rushing them back.

True but they are playing for finals and are at home. It may click for them this week given a few weeks post Ablett adjustment.SuperDuper wrote:should win comfortably with that team and no Ablett

I can't imagine them being as poor as Freo were, nor are we likely to be much better.
Saints by a goal or two.

You can get $3.25 for a Saints win.
Shenton unluckey, but Steven had to get back. A good problem to have.

Suns are objectively hard to beat at Metricon. Will take an equally good performance to Freo.

Good looking team, looking to see the same intensity and team defence and also looking for repeat quality performances, especially from younger players!!

Re: Team v Suns
Possibly the best 22 we've picked all year. It feels like a long time since Fisher, Schneider and Steven played together. If we bring last weeks effort we can win.

Best balanced team this year for sure too...remboy wrote:Possibly the best 22 we've picked all year. It feels like a long time since Fisher, Schneider and Steven played together. If we bring last weeks effort we can win.
Fisher makes a big difference down back..
3 mobile big forwards
Savage with a penetrating kick and run out of the backline
And a swag of smalls...including the grunt of Armo and the smarts of Schneider.
Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....

He is but now that Fisher is back I can't see who should miss out for him. He'd be ahead of the other emergencies if there's any change.bergsone wrote:Very unlucky is Shenton

He's had some recent head knocks, and shoulder issues. I'm suspecting a late change...

Re: Team v Suns
I thought the value in Bruce forward was clear to see last week. If he keeps playing there sooner or later he will kick three or four.
Under Richo the team seems to play best with three tall forwards. And little Tommy Curren at half forward will always kick one or two.
Also think Roberton and Fisher down back have made a big difference. Roberton overhead and ball use is solid.
Good looking team for sure - and this is without Webster, Geary, Gilbert and Wright.

Re: Team v Suns
I always overrate StKilda teams but if we finish with the spoon again, it would have to be our best ever wooden spoon team! Not that there is a lot of solace in that...

Got know idea what you mean Dave. You have confused me completely. When was the last fourth named person the sub?

One could (rarely) ever accuse you of inconsistency Pluggs.plugger66 wrote:Dave McNamara wrote:Definitely! The Fireman wrote:keep playing Shenton

To paraphrase one of your favourite responses to people's questions about what you may have posted... "when did I say that the fourth named person on the bench is going to be the sub?"
However, there is a feeling that the last named is a bit of a likely pointer to whom is to be the sub.
Add to that... why would Dunstan even start on the bench when he is one of our prime movers in the packs?
Add to that that he's been knocked around a bit lately (head and shoulder hits).
Add to that the (in many people's opinion) 'unlucky' dropping of the Panther. (BTW, Pluggs I know I can safely post 'the Panther' in a post to you, as that nick is straight from a club article posted on the club website. )
Putting all that together, led me to surmise that there may be a late change,
and that late change may well be Dunstan in for the Panther... or maybe Ross?
(And it may snow today in and around Melbs'.)
We shall see what happens, eh?
Go Saintas!
