Footy Finals Savings Account
It's fair to assume that most of us found it a little hard going financially during the 2009 and 2010 finals campaigns for our club. Well, at least those of us who aren't high income earners. With that drawn grand final in 2010, I think I may have paid the good part of a thousand bucks on finals tickets. That is almost twice of what I paid for my Saints membership package for that year. A good thing we didn't have any interstate finals that year, because I'm not I wouldn't have been able to pay the rent. I have to say, that making the finals can come as a considerable cost to the average supporter.
That is why I'm thinking it may be best to be prepared for the next time we make the finals. I'm seriously thinking of opening a separate account in saving for our next footy finals birth. The general consensus is that the next time we'll be playing finals will be around 2018, which is a pretty fair estimate. I reckon putting away $10 per week could be a sensible step towards that occasion. No doubt the cost of finals tickets will steadily increase. I paid close to $300 for a GF ticket on all of the last three occasions. I dread to know how much they'll cost by the next time we qualify for a grand final. Perhaps I would be better off putting $20 /week towards my new footy finals fund?
Anyway, there's a simple thought some of you may want to invest in.

And for those living overseas, you might have to chuck in an extra $20 a week to cover airfares. Could be in trouble if we go back to back though.

Re: Footy Finals Savings Account
every finals game that is
took me a year to pay it back slowly
we had the attitude of we might not be here again for quite a while so went all out and had a good time
we know the rest of the story
