A Question to the Administrators & Moderating Personnel.

Can some of you please explain just why a poster that has been previously banned on at least 3 occasions be allowed to come back under a different nic....

I sent off a PM to an Administrator that ChicagoSaint is the same poster as the following...

BaysideSaint
OneGram
and Loyal

This Administrator read my PM and I never received a reply and this ChicagoSaint continued to post...

He continued to post until Mr Magic had enough (General Forum) and may not post again, let alone organise the saintsational sponsorship.

JUST WHY HAS THIS HAPPENED!!!

Too many good posters have left and yet at least one administrator was alerted to it.

Don't get me wrong, they have a tough job and search this site without pay and are will to do it for the good of this site.

BUT, if evidence supplied proves that ChigagoSaint has been banned under previous nics, surely that's enough....

And to those that commented that I was "over policing"
just really don't have a clue...

Can some Administrator or Moderator make a comment before it is locked or deleted ???

If Mr Magic leaves this site when a Administrator was warned about a previous banned poster, well then that would be another good poster gone IMO

It has nothing to do with my "job" , but it has to do with the integrity of this site. I did provide the details on why ChicagoSaint had been previously banned and I got no reply...

This poster was allowed to post and has insulted posters for a couple of weeks and ultimately resulting in Mr Magic departure (at the very least in assisting with the saintsational sponsorship campaign for the next season.

Some on here need to think laterally to spot new posters and the rate the post.. not too hard really

Agree wholeheartedly with you St Fid. First time for everything.

Mr Magic has been much maligned by the lunatic Chicago Saint (dumb name, Chicago are the Bears and the Saints are St Louis) and that is a travesty, after all to good work Mr Magic has done for this site and the St Kilda Football Club.

When people change their nicks, it can make things hard to police - that's obviously a fact.

I'm not sure on the status of IP banning; that's an admin issue, not a mod issue. (Also, for the record, mods can't ban, that's an admin job).

Agree we need to encourage good posting habits here, never nice when people come here to cause trouble. Sadly we can't police absolutely everything with a fine tooth comb and monitor what people do every single time. It's just not possible.

The funny thing is, a few Collingwood idiots aside, things have been going well here recently.

So we are trying, but we can't be as omnipotent as some posters would like. But if we were, we'd also upset those who see this as - I think AOK put it beautifully - a kind of graffiti wall of online free speech.

Monitoring and spotting isn't as easy as some seem to think, however. We've had legit posters absolutely smashed and labelled as trolls when they weren't - they were just offering a different view.

I provided the facts to an admin staff member and this poster was allowed to continue to post and abuse the system and insult another poster to the point that this "respected" poster may not post again.

Too little too late IMO and another good poster has gone.

That proof was sent a couple of weeks ago and if he had have been banned straight away the insults to Mr Magic would not have happened.

It was never going to be a "case of mistaken identity"

How can you be 100% sure. Surely that isnt a secret and you can let us all into your detective skills.

THere is little respect shown on Saintsational, sadly, as the information can be fantastic. People get sick of it and leave, there has been so many over the years. I just don't understand why people feel the need to abuse others.

Gazrat is actually far from correct, as I can confirm who the poster in question actually is.

As I have mentioned in the other post, there is a rule on the forum about trying to police the forum yourself and make a scene about it in the open.

The evidence I provided was conclusive and now Mr Magic has left after being insulted which is a shame but more so when you consider the work he has done on this site.

I know you and others work tirelessly in moderating this forum, but I did do the leg work for you and it just took too long for this former banned poster to be banned again. IMO he has caused damage that could have been avoided.
