I do this already.

TBH, the only posts on here I have ever moved/removed have been threads which are direct attacks at other posters, spam, double posts, posts which the OP has asked to be removed, or items which could bring damage to the forum (legally or otherwise).

One thing we have to agree upon is, not everyone here will agree with every decision made. I explained this in a PM to a poster about a decision made on here recently.

As for the missing 'thread', it is still around if required, but I believe the thread had run its course and there was enough awareness by our members on here about what was going on.

I mean, I could run this place like the ex-mod... but I haven't got a small mo and bad haircut

At the end of the day, I believe there is a lot of slack given here, a number stretch it as far as possible, and sometimes it will snap. As the rules of the forum outline, we run this place to try and keep the majority happy. Just go with us, help us out and don't try to create havoc by creating post after post questioning things. If you have a problem use the PM function, don't try putting yourself up in lights and making a big scene.

I'd rather not have to delete anything and/or ban anyone, which there hasn't been much of either recently. Lets keep it that way.

gaz stop trying to get the locked thread locked.

edit:
i can see that point of view HSV
tolerance has been here lately, gotta admit that.
and even tho the argy bargy is still here, like someone said recently, if there was no debating it would be a boring as bat s*** place to visit
i mean cmon, plugg v sting is sometimes quite entertaining.

but i do see the point from SEN as well..it IS quite frustrating at times

Well as long as we have a "family friendly" forum I don't think anyone can really complain :)

I think that was me who said that :P

And yes, the little fights between sparring partners on here can be funny... To a point. IF the line is not crossed, I let it go. But as soon as one or the other complain, or outsiders are brought into it, we have to step in.

It only ever bothers me when the reason is given as "run it's course".

It's the equivalent of Derryn Hinch cutting off a caller he disagrees with or doesn't want to hear from. Or the equivalent of deleting people off Facebook if they don't agree with you.

Armooo made the call and I just wanted to register that I don't believe the Mods are quality controllers as such, but to enforce the forum rules.

And that thread, as distasteful as it was, didn't actually break any rules.

No outrage. No protests. Just my opinion.

like trolls
from opp teams
that are constantly allowed to post here?

see this is what amazes me, a few pms and a thread is gone.
yet 20 odd people whine about a troll opp supporter and nothing is done.
WE pay for this site, if it wasnt for a lot of people here, there would be NO site.

and if mods or admin edit posts can they put a reason at the bottom of the post and who edited it

I just want to clear something up, I wasn't PM'd by anybody, I was going by the general feel of the thread. Yes there were a lot of people just taking the piss, but there were also those that simply wanted the thread down.

Also nobody from the club has contacted me requesting anything be taken down, ever. That may be different with other mods and admins that I'm not aware of but never for me.

If there was any truth in the rumour the thread would have been allowed to continue as it would have been very big St Kilda related news. However, it was just another rumour which has had at least 3 or 4 runs here.

If a new poster came on and started a thread saying that they think that this player or that player was gay because their mate's cousin saw them together in an ally beside a night club I'm sure that most of you would want the thread to be deleted instantly or at least locked.

Essentially that thread was the same thing, baseless speculation and I didn't think that it was appropriate to let it go any longer, you may disagree that a mod is entitled to do that but that is something we will just have to agree to disagree about.

Free speech is fine, but there are times when free speech starts leaning towards libel and IMO that is when mods must act. If I locked a thread saying that Raph Clarke should be dropped because I disagree with the opinion of the OP then you I would feel I had gone overboard. However if one of you started a thread saying that you think player x is gay, play y is on drugs and player z is into beastiality then I'm sorry but I think free speech goes out the window.

I'll Never Find Another Ewe - the ballad.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmPlFr6eu7E
The second song is obviously after the Ewe has been found ....
- and when that song was number one on the charts in the UK - Woolly Bully was number 1 in the USA  - later in the year we played the Bombers in the GF - which coincidentally is who we play this weekend - go figure ... :?

Doesn't anyone see the irony in all this? A thread is locked b/c a mod believes the thread has'run it's course.' Meanwhile the Raph Clarke thread remains open even after a certain poster has called ppl c..ts and f..kwits. I guess that thread hasn't run it's course yet? :?
