Steven, Stanley and ...

Post: # 1063657Post perfectionist »

Play the kid we hear from there know it alls. And yet, most of our "kids" seem to have zero football ability. What we need to do, like Malthouse did, is "churn the kids" until you can find players who actually have at least one skill. Jack Steven is utterly useless. He can't run, kick (unless he is within twenty metres of goal), handball or think. This was obvious from his first game. I was prepared to wait for Rhys Stanley, but he has shown no improvement what so ever. Churn them and try someone else.

Who is Stevens?

That Jack Steven though, I've been impressed with his game.
His tackling, pressure and got a couple of goals.

Steven has been pretty good, smith pretty good, stanley woeful...

Stevens pressure skills inside 50 have been almost solo

At least Stevens attack on the ball is fantastic. Effort, Effort and Effort. He's got it and he'll probably be labelled RLs new love child.

Steven and his type are the future.

Steven is a gun. How pathetic. He ain't and we will be nowhere if we think his is. Sidebottom is a gun, Beams is a gun, etc. Take the blinkers off.

He may not be a gun, he's quite dangerous though.

I like him in the team. Adds some threatening presence up forward.

he can play a bit, but is certainly not a star yet. could be the next montagna, but if that's the case we'll have to wait another three or four years for him to hit a grade.

We won. Be happy. He was good and will only get better. Michael Tuck played 50 reserves games before he was a regular. He will be a very good player for our club if he gets his groins right.

I thought Steven game was good, he my not of had the most possessions but it was the 1% that he brought to the game tonight. 2 goals also, don't know what game you have watched perfectionist, to use Beams and Sidebottom is a furphy example, Beams 47 games, Sidebottom 40 games Jack Steven 11 games.

Harsh OP.

Steven was good tonight and as Leigh Matthews said got better as the game went on.

Stanley was unsighted but it wasn't a night for him.

Wont see him and Kosi in the same team soon.

Lance or James??

Dont know which game your watching but Steven was one of our best players tonight, his attack on the ball and his tackling was fantastic. Very dangerous in the forward line probs our best forward.

I only rate contested possessions for a potential premiership player, and he had none.

Jack STEVEN, not Stevens, had a great game. Definitely one of our best for the night.

hmmm, didnt check your stats on that one, he had 4 contested possessions, and i think his 13 touches and 2 goals were very important.

You're very harsh, perfectionist. Steven was a good contributor tonight. Struggled early on trying to control the ball when it came in his reach. I guess the greasy conditions help his case much. To come to think about it, the delivery to the forwards is possibly one of the main reasons they looked ineffective for the most part.

Steven needs a good run of games, like Armo and possibly Smith. Thought he was good tonight.

Steven was very good.

Smith smacks in.

Stanley can go elsewhere if he wants. I'm over waiting for him to give me a reason to think he can play.

On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Steven kept working and worked harder as the game got tight, which is great to see.

He seems to link well with Armo also.
