I suppose McQualter, Walsh or Johnson are the next in line for a call-up if there are changes. We do really need another big body in attack and defence though.

Was Walsh recruited to just play VFL games ?

We need quick , coordinated big men.

Give Tommy a go.. I'm going to start carrying a placard soon.

This week would be a good opportunity to blood Tom Walsh.

I like the idea, but at who's expense? Our backline looked reasonable on the weekend, no-one's injured or suspended.

Hasn't he been playing a bit in the ruck? I may be wrong. McEvoy seems like a natural forward so playing Tommy may give Mac a bit more time up forward.

Our backline was good .. thanks to the outstanding efforts of Goddard, Fisher and Gwilt .. who might be masking a couple of weaknesses.

Collingwood has improved their backline further - with Leon Neon - we need to keep tweaking things too.

I don't know how Walsh can keep his spirits up playing permanently in the VFL,.. don't underestimate what a morale boost can do for him - if he's finally given the opportunity.

If we were to bring in walsh it would be interesting to see if he would play full forward or in the backline.

ross said that he was going to play him a couple of weeks ago.....and he would play him...as a ruck/forward before the season was out....

From what i have seen in the nab cup - and in some sandy games he looks very calm and well poised. Could be a handy addition to either our back or forward line.

In: Attacking football that could win a flag in 2011.
Out: Shut down footy against a side that wont challenge for the flag

I agree considering the team we need to beat to win the flag, has at least three mobile big men in Dawes, Cloke, and Brown.

He has good skills also, which we'll need to beat the press.

I still live in hope that we'll be there late in september/october

I think Gamble is the only possibility of a chance for Tommy but that may require a leap of faith for the selectors when we are currently winning.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

I'd love to see Walsh play towards the end of the year... The guy has got the heart of a lion and exactly the right attitude that the team needs right now..... His want for the contest could be contagious.

I reckon Dawson struggled last match. Gave away silly frees and a 50 costing us dearly.

Reported on Ch 10 that Roey left training track early with a knee soreness, in the event he misses out, may be put Macca forward & Walsh ruck & vice-versa

Is Walsh being bandied around as a ruckman due to our shallow depth in the position or is he being labelled as our version of Leigh Brown (seriously how he has become the prototype for anything apart from a toilet seat I will never know)
