Why wait for next season? Do it this week.

CHF with Riewoldt FF. Kosi ruck/forward where he plays his best football.

Clearly a bad forward line this week. 40 shots so lets change it up and have 3 talls getting in each others way and having less run in the forward line.

Good point.

Our forward line looked dysfunctional last night.

Only 40 shots. Probably need it too be changed up after last nights terrible display.

FFS

give it a rest.

Couple of weeks out of 23 isn't enough. Obviously Tommy's efforts haven't gone unnoticed by the incumbents, who fired simultaneously for the first time in recent memory. They know he's coming and will demand a spot.

Roll the dice and play him this week, IMO, give us a bit of a new dimension going into finals.

Yep Rooy and Kosi fired up because they were a chance to be dropped. Ive got an idea, lets keep it as is and see how we go. 7 wins out of 9 and kicking more goals than we have all year. BC have you seen Walsh play in the forward line this year?

After your post about Raph and now this rubbish your posting today, making me wonder.....

Do you really think Riewoldt and Koschitzke only tried hard last night compared to other weeks because Walsh is playing well underneath them, really? Surely you don't really think that do you?

Roll the dice?

New dimension?

Obviously putting it subtly doesn't work for you...

We hit the scoreboard 40 times last night.

Bringing in an untried international to "roll the dice" and "add a new dimension"

or are you simply saying you want to change something that isn't broken. Change something that doesn't need changing?

Walsh will get his chance next year.

My post about Raph was on the money and so is this one.

One good week against mediocre opposition doesn't say to me that all our problems are fixed. Let's be honest, it's been broken most of this season and is likely to be found out again in the finals.

And I stand by what I said about Walsh putting pressure on the incumbents to perform. Competition for spots shouldn't be underestimated

No, but I saw him play several times last season for Sandringham and said at the time he seemed more ready for senior football than Stanley.

Even then, with less than a dozen games under his belt, he was a thumping kick and knew how to use his body in a contest.

Six goals three last week including the match-winner was impressive. I saw the highlights and saw nothing that indicated he isn't a natural power forward.

As to three tall forwards getting in each others way, you have a short memory Plugger66. We had a very successful forward line when it was Gehrig, Kosi and Roo.

Yep that was 7 years ago. Footy has changed and also Kosi and Rooy are older and slower and surely Walsh is no Gehrig.

How often did we have Gehrig , Kosi and Roo play in the fwd line TOGETHER? They never did. Hamill played as the third tall and complemented the other two fwds perfectly b/c his fwd pressure was before it's time. Kosi drifted fwd from the ruck occasionally, but was injured more often than not.

THree talls in the fwd line :? One of them at least would have to be incredibly mobile like Hamill was. If Walsh was to play it would have to be at the expense of Kosi or Roo is he gets injured. Gotta agree with Plugger on this one.

give walsh the sub spot next week.
and despite a good win last night kosi & roo have yet to play two good games in a row together.
we played a mediocre team at etihad saturday night. we always win those and usually easily. i wouldn't be thinking all is well and we can continue without a plan b.

Tommy and Arryn were trying out for a BJ Spot

both started in the forward line and got the team- Sandy Reserves to a 9 goal to 1 first qurt

Tommy was seen in the Ruck

and when the wind picked up and the opposition were making a run with the wind they were both in the back line with Tommy's strong hands keeping them out relentlessly.

One swallow does not make a summer and one bumper win over the Kangarooters does not make it the best forward line in the league.

RL has been trying out 3rd tall options most of the year with Archer, Johnson, Gamble, Sippos (both not too tall but going for that 3rd tall kind of roll) and I have no doubt that if Stanley was up to it then he, too, would have been tried there.

Some of you need to get your blinkers off and realize 1 win, doesn't matter how big it was, means naught in the overall scheme of things.

THe last time we tried it was this game, round 3 of 2008 vs the Western Bulldogs.

http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_m ... s?mid=3472

Western Bulldogs...1.2...6.6...11.9...19.11...125
St Kilda Saints.......7.3...9.6...10.8...13.9....87

It worked for one quarter, when we got off to a flyer. After that game the G-train only played 3 more and the comeback was aborted.

Disagree. All it would take is for Kosi to play second ruck (where he plays his best football) and to give the key forwards some space.

We managed to have King playing second ruck to Gardiner for all of 2009 without clogging up the forward line.

Why can't Kosi do the same as second ruck to McEvoy.

He does play second ruck. Not sure if you realise but the interchange rule has changed since King played. Ruckmen hardly sit on the bench these days. It was 50% game time for each ruckman 3 years ago.
