Only game not live???

All other games except ours appear to be live into Melbourne.

Correct me if wrong, but going on the IQ Tv guide.

Is this a case of the AFL protecting Etihad revenue, as it is their best interests?

Sure, they get gate revenue from MCG finals, but miss out on F&B and ancillary revenue which the MCC get a big cut of.

You just cant stop with it can you. 2 days ago there wasnt going to be a game live in your opinion and now you have a new theory. The fact that only 30 thousand tickets have been sold may have something to do with it and maybe Channel 10 dont want to go live.

All REAL Melb based supporters should be there.


The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules. 
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

Yep but plenty can't go for various legit reasons.

30,000 ticket sales is not a lot, but the Friday night and Sat arvo games are also likely to be at 60 to 65% capacity just like our game, but are shown live.

The AFL look after Etihad revenue first and foremost. That is my point. That is Nettlefold's point also when comparing MCG to Etihad.

Game is live up here on Ten which is a little surprising. A couple of years ago, they showed a prelim at 830.

Yeah disappointed that i can't be there. So thats why there's not 30,001.
I'm attending a bucks weekend, but if i was free, i'd be there watching it LIVE!
Hopefully the boys can win against Sydney and i'll be there next week.

As I said in another thread I can't be there due to the birth of my child. However, the only real thing that grinds my gears about this non live TV rubbish for TEN is that it's being shown live in every other state apart from Victoria!

That is something channel ten are accountable for IMO!

Correct, no doubt because of the fact that with both involving interstate teams, the attendance will be down on the other two games. I would suggest that the decision to go "live" is taken in consultation with the AFL.
