Captain Nick ( plus other stuff)- HS

Post: # 1169767Post saintbrat »

wide ranging article with lots of little gems
NEW coach Scott Watters wants Nick Riewoldt to captain St Kilda for a seventh season
>>>>>
In a positive note, Riewoldt said he was confident Brendon Goddard would stay at the Saints for the rest of his career, despite speculation he is the No.1 target for Greater Western Sydney at the end of next season.

"We're great mates and I'm confident in Brendon (staying)," Riewoldt said

Scott has not and will not create any new leaders with this group. As such a mature group we already have them. It is obvious Big Mac will become a leader Stephen King style minus the injuries however this gives me nothing.

With that I am off to plough Hungarian vadge.

That's a nothing article bratty!

No talk of delistings. That's all that's relevant in the next week, rest can wait!

Still preferable to the articles we were getting over the last two off seasons.

Well staying captain is one thing.

Addressing our on-field over-reliance on the captain is another that no doubt is being addressed.

I forsee more avenues to goal and another tall target

We've had more positive PR in the last few days than we've had in the previous two years. Let's hope it continues.

I think Roo needs a rest to concentrate on his kicking skills and to also put 2011 behind him.

Yep for sure. If he wasnt Captain he would kick much better.

I'm feeling a lot more positive than I was this time last year..I get the feeling Roo had had a big weight taken from his shoulders since Lyon left, and it sounds like the playing group are pretty keen. Looking forward to season 2012.

Vadge? Must be a root vegetable.

With a kick as bad as his I'm not so sure but it's worth a go. Couldn't get any worse.

Altho 2011 was not his best year, he is probably one of the most inspirational players to ever play for the saints , dragging us over the line soooooo many times. A stand out captain for sure. Some of us have short memories , his kicking was not great this year but has been ok in the past. I fell honoured to watch him play each week. A dead set Champion.

The headline doesn't really fit the article?

When I actually read it through, it made me think there is more of a chance he won't be than will....or was that just me?
