Transport Tonight 5/5/12

Post: # 1214342Post ando051 »

Just to let everyone know that is travelling to the game tonight verses Hawthorn. There is track work on the Frankston line, so buses will travel between Frankston and Mordialloc. If you are driving, the parking at yarra park at the G is only expected to have 35% capacity due to rain during the week.

And from the MCC's website, just to make things interesting...

Parking limited for Saints-Hawks clash - May 04, 2012

Due to heavy rain, a large portion of Yarra Park will not be used for vehicle parking at the St Kilda vs Hawthorn AFL match at the MCG on Saturday May 5.

While all gates will be open for entry (Gate 3 - Wellington Parade South, Gate 5 and 6 - Punt Road and Gate 7 - Brunton Avenue),
the number of vehicles will be a heavily reduced number.

The match starts at 7.40pm and while we encourage patrons to use public transport, anyone driving to the MCG should arrive very early or seek
an alternative parking area in Melbourne's CBD and surrounding inner suburbs.

Which guarantees Metro 's so called "footy specials" will be one extra train scheduled to arrive as we are all stuck at the Brunton Avenue entrance of Richmond station trying to "touch on" which means a fair wait for the next trains that will run on a Saturday night timetable.

Doesn't matter. With a bit of rain and live against the gate, combined with the MCG, there won't be many Saints fans at the G tonight even though it's our home game. Expect Hawks fans to easily outnumber us.
