The Hampton Hotel was called Beaches for a while there. Was owned by Ian Stewart and Molly was the regular DJ on a Thurs night. First time I ever saw Winmar was there. He had signed for the Saints but not played for us yet. Was just a skinny pissed aboriginal and I remember thinking that he was too small and will be crap.

Great video.
I'd forgotton how much the crowd got into it in after the game.
That was the day we lost our heart.

Still not convinced it was the right decision - I've got my Keep the Saints at Moorabbin membership keyring somewhere.
Still obviously support the Saints but not with the same passion as in those days.
Used to come home with no voice after every game.

I was there.

Took a piece of turf and planted it in a mate's lawn as I didn't have one of my own.

Took the best friend's kids. Kept telling them that this was a special day. Don't know if they got it.

Shed a tear.

Remember it well. I thought it was the year we were a lock for the finals -1991? lost to Geelong with the crap final 6 system?

Thought we were going to lose to Fitzroy - that's why I thought finals as the result was irrelevant.

Tried to saw my seat back off and take it with me but got stopped by security and left.

Many memories not too many wins although win over Carlton where plugger kicked 12 and over Hawthorn 1991 Pecketts first game I believe stand out - as we never beat them usually.

Oh nearly forgot the day the back of the stand behnd the goals caught fire.

That's hilarious.
I thought I might have looked a bit strange crawling around the Animal Pit after the game scraping the dirt/gravel into a plastic bag.
But a saw! :D
Try bringing a saw in to Jihad!

If you had waited 15 years you could have bought the back of those seats from the club in that sell-off.
I've got a beam with 8 seat numbers hanging on my back verandah.
