Final meeting between 2 clubs today, will hopefully be 99% signed off on. Will be min 9 Zebras (8 plus 23rd man) selected each week. The Saints can request for extra Saints any given week and Zebs commettiee will consider it.

The new Saints coach will have NO control over the VFL side, unlike previous coach who was a dictator. Match selection committee will consist of 2 Saints people, 2 Zebra people and chairman will be Zebs representivitve to make any split decisions. Players will be picked on form.
sounds like there are clear guidelines - good

thanks for update.

However, the Zebras have signed a swathe of Sandringham Dragons, with more to follow.

Sandringham is also undergoing a major facelift, with Trevor Barker Beach Oval being redeveloped.

“Hopefully the turf will be laid in early to mid December and we’re looking at hopefully being back on it around April-May,” says operations manager Lucas Blatman. Photos on the club’s website show just how extensive the redevelopment is, with the playing area to be increased about 6 per cent.

The club is training at Moorabbin in the meantime, and the core group has been joined by a dozen Dragons.

Several, including Jack Wilson, Matt Hooy and Julian Eimutis, have already played with the Zebras’ development team.

The club has also signed Josh Bennett, returning to Victoria after kicking 71 goals and finishing fourth in the NEAFL’s best-and-fairest with Ainslie.

Sandringham also remains in discussions with St Kilda regarding the alignment for 2014-15, with a plan to be set in stone “in the next week or two”.

Alignment confirmed till end of 2015

of note is that North Ballarat, the Kangaroos and Werribee are talking re their alignments as North ballarat No longer have a Development squad- where Kangaroos had played a player all last year as he learnt the game

Walked past the ground today.
It looks great.
The turf has been rolled out but hasn't had time to settle and bond yet.

Ground is wider by a couple of metres - it goes right out to the scoreboard.
It is quite a bit longer.
The area behind the Sautner goal has been reduced to about half - must be extended by over 5m.
It also looks like the pockets are deeper.

Apparently the ground has been levelled (it always looked flat to me) and a new drainage system is in.
Looks like it will be ready for training in the next month or so?

Yeah was massive slope from Can Hill end, wasnt really noticeable but explained why the other end got flooded when it rained.

Dont think they'll be training there for few months, they want to give it as much time to mend as possible. Dont want to end up like Williamstown. With no game til round 5, id say it be bout then that they train, they'll continue at Moorabbin

Sandy finally got one back from Port Melbourne- with aplayer signing from there during the week

I personally feel this is a good move....
Current St Kilda development coach Simon McPhee has been appointed as manager of the Saints’ Player Academy. McPhee will combine his current role as Sandringham senior coach together with his new role for the 2014 season ahead of the club separating the positions again in 2015.

Boxing Day is an unusual time for a re-signing...but very welcome news for Sandy supporters...Thinking Cockie may get the captaincy in 2014...hopefully another signing reasonably soon
