Re: Stadium under water
You wait months to see the team, and then you get this crap! Why weren't we allowed to play at Etihad!

Re: Stadium under water
Hope the team brought their scuba gear.
But yeah, it is ridiculous that this game is in bloody Geelong. Inconveniences supporters of both clubs. Which clown came up with that idea?
I blame Eminem... No, actually I blame the idiots who are fans of his (c)rap music.

We're not the only team that has had to play outdoors, but shiiiiit... it seems like a bad result either way (likely injuries or no hit-out)

Will be a bit wet underfoot!

Not unless the team remembers to bring their umbrella hats. Apparently Footscray will be wearing them.kosifantutti wrote:From what I saw on the news it could be wet overhead.LTN16 wrote:Just said on news that game will go ahead.

Again it begs the question as to why we have to play in this shithole, soon to be ghost town.

Re: Stadium under water
How long is the rain expected to last?
Very important to win the toss tonight, and kick with the tide.

Re: Stadium under water
No idea why people think you get injured more in the wet. is there any proof? I thought people said we got hammies and knee injuries because Etihad is to hard.
Re: Stadium under water
It's about to start pissing down in Melbourne, according to the radar, so if we were playing outdoors here it wouldn't be much better.White Winmar wrote:Again it begs the question as to why we have to play in this shithole, soon to be ghost town.

About to? If we played at the home ground of both competing teams we could simply close the roof. Problem solved. But it's fun being contrary, just for the sake of it, isn't it?bergholt wrote:It's about to start pissing down in Melbourne, according to the radar, so if we were playing outdoors here it wouldn't be much better.White Winmar wrote:Again it begs the question as to why we have to play in this shithole, soon to be ghost town.

We have even had a game indoors start 2 hours late because of the weather. Still dont see why it matters. Doubt many would have gone to any game tonight with the way the weather is especially when its on TV.

Wouldnt it be a bit grounded with a stage on the ground?

Not if it was unavailable because the AFL got in first.

Im sure they would have needed to book it a year ago. Not sure practice matches have much weight over making heaps of money.
