Like Robert Harvey, it's hard to believe this bloke is underrated. Again tonight he showed why he is THE best CHF since Wayne Carey.... His numbers, work rate, leadership and courage is up the with the greatest players with those attributes

Baldock, Barker, Burke, Harvey, Hayes, Riewoldt..... Saints Supermen IMO

amen to that
Titanic heart. He just pulses with hope and has this unquenchable thirst to do everything in his ability to win.

An inspiring person and the greatest leader ive ever seen at this club.

Yeah we only beat melbourne....but so what?

i know its a team game, but riewoldt, yet again, rose like a god and ripped that game apart with his bare hands
great to watch

Just labelling him a great player is under rating him... Opposition, and even some Saints supporters don't realise what he has done better for longer than many other CHFs ..... Like Harves as a mid...

Fact he wasn't an AA last year was hilarious IMO

A few seasons ago when his knee condition was cronic most of us believed he was close to finished
He Is moving better than the last three years , looks like he could play for at least another two or three years.
He has been an absolute champion....

His body is pretty much rooted, he struggles to bend... And every contest kills him. He should be retired.... Like Lenny Hayes

But his heart and his head will not let him.... He defies with pure will and pushes beyond the normal

A giant of the game.

Agreed re the AA

50 goals, most marks and most possessions for anything resembling a key forward.

His body is not rooted, he moved very well, especially between contests, he is far from finished….
He has never been fantastic below his knees...

Great player.

But he barely had an opponent tonight. McDonald got injured early in the third quarter and Frawley was on Maister the whole game.

Ask his orthopaedic surgeon how he's going. If you head down to epworth tomorrow you might run into Roo, getting a drain...

And then watch him do light duties all week to get back up for next week!

He hasen't trained fully for years, and has had post season surgery and recovery every off season for many years now?..

He got us started in the first quarter.
After 15 mins or so of flat footy his inspirational run and chase down of a Melb player on the Moorabbin wing seemed to get us going.

As usual he was fantastic, running, presenting, running, presenting ....
His legend status keeps going up in my book.

His knee is rooted, but it will never stop him.
We are rooted without him.
Absolute champion superstar, and I very rarely use that much overused term.

In some ways that's the best I have ever seen him play.
There have been games where hes taken more marks and kicked more goals but his work off the ball and defensive game was just unreal. He was putting on shepherds and his tackle and chase was incredible. And for the first time he was brutally hurting blokes as well. Was just an absolute monster game all over the field and all aspects of the game.
Absolutely pole axed some demons which was terrific to see.

The run down tonight was inspiring. I gave him no hope. Think it really lifted heads.

Am debating whether he moves up past Harves to number 2 Saint of all time for me below Plugger.

Yep, ok, he is now. Harves will still be happy with third place

Equal with Harves just an out and out inspiration ,and great leader to show the kids how it's done and the effort and preperation that is needed to make it ,at least 2 years left thank god!

Who underates him. You must remember a person on here after round one 2012 saying he moves like a super rules player. maybe that is the person you mean when you say he is underated. Am I correct on that?

Not sure how R.Harvey would be below Lockett having achieved much more?.. But that's a separate argument.

Riewoldt is a freak.

Carey could not maintain sustained excellence into 30s, Brereton not, Hart not, Brown not, Tredrea not

Sustained excellence at CHF is a rare thing... Most either retire from wear and tear... Or move to another position?

Reiwoldt maintains such a high rate of quality, and reads the state of the game so well.

When we were getting smashed in qtr 1, though his leadership was terrific. Seemed to drop back into the hole at CHB and took a few important grabs.

When the Saints started to get on terms he went forward and kicked three important goals.

Excellent player. I have only seen three Saints champions since I've been in Melbourne, Lockett, Harvey, Riewoldt. Three very different players and I cant compare them.

Lance or James??

I loved his celebrations are the game. You could see how satisfied he was with the performance of all the kids. He was like a proud dad when his son got him his first beer from the fridge. Go Roo.

+1

Travesty of justice the fact that he didn't get in last year....yet clowns like Travis Cloke and a couple of other GOPs made it.
