Good to see him, Eli, Josh Bruce, Tom Lee and Acres at Vic Park yesterday. Didn't see any Pies players.

Re: Siposs. whats happening with him?
Jury well and truly out.
Lets say he is actually good - where would he even play?
I am confused about how he fits into AFL footy as it is currently played.
He would have been terrific in the 90s.

Re: Siposs. whats happening with him?
At pick #75 in a draft Siposs despite the hype was always going to be a project player, that had flaws in his game, that needed to be addressed in order for him to make it.
His beautiful kicking early on probably seduced us all into seeing him as more than what he was when he joined us.
At 189cm he is not going to grow, so while he played as key forward early on, he is not going to do that at the Saints. So he needed to find a niche, and so far has not been able to do so.
He certainly looks good in flashes, but does not get involved enough in the game. This includes his off the ball work, where his defensive game is lacking. Quite possibly from being a gun forward in a junior comp, where you could get along from just being fed opportunities.
Reportedly his tank is still not good. And to play a flankers role either up forward, or down back, at AFL level you need good aerobic capacity.
Disappointingly too this year was that Siposs's former very accurate kicking at goal seemed to have abandoned him, with him often kicking only behinds when once he would have slotted goals more often than not.
He still has talent, but is going to need next year to step up his work-rate. He needs to get a lot more involved in the game both offensively and defensively. Make or break year next year.
Morse so as White and Bruce both look next year more than capable of playing the "third- forward" role. Bruce was very impressive in this capacity just prior to getting injured.
Down back Siposs would competing with likes of the taller and more mobile Robertson in attempting to break into the team in the back half.

Re: Siposs. whats happening with him?
Is it true that he was poorly coached at high school and these bad habits nave been really hard to get out of his game?
You are garbage - Enough said
Re: Siposs. whats happening with him?
Trade Siposs to Essendon for a pick around 50. Then we package up pick 50 + Montagna to North Melbourne for their first pick (pick 14ish approximately).
Thoughts???

I reckon he would have been like an even better Jason Heatley. Could have kicked 100 in 97.Con Gorozidis wrote:Jury well and truly out.

Re: Siposs. whats happening with him?
Pick 50's worth approximately nothing so to make that trade plausible you need to explain why North would give pick 14 for a 31 year old.citywest wrote:Trade Siposs to Essendon for a pick around 50. Re: Siposs. whats happening with him?
It is plausible because North are desperate for quality right now. They know their window of opportunity will only last 2 more years maximum.bergholt wrote:Pick 50's worth approximately nothing so to make that trade plausible you need to explain why North would give pick 14 for a 31 year old.citywest wrote:Trade Siposs to Essendon for a pick around 50. Re: Siposs. whats happening with him?
No way would I delisted him, he has something about him. Will know his prob on his last chance. I was really surprised he got dropped after a few ok games. On the trade table would not get much for him.
Re: Siposs. whats happening with him?
Turned into that Simpkin/Gwilt type player. Not tall enough to play key position but not agile/quick enough to play that smaller type. Over the off season he needs to do a lot of fartlek so he can improve his defensive efforts.. If he is still retained.
Re: Siposs. whats happening with him?
Why? Harvey and Petrie are their only really old guys, the rest will be around for a while yet.citywest wrote:It is plausible because North are desperate for quality right now. Re: Siposs. whats happening with him?
Still think we tried to squash his ego too much, ego isn't a dirty word anymore in footy....he lost his swagger, and his swagger was self belief.
