Seems to me like they are only discussing possibles for pick 21 in the part that was filmed.
No mention of Nakia... Maybe they think Nakia will be long gone by pick 21....
Tony seems like hes keen to justify their jobs in front of Pelchen

Lol I thought so too Con.....watching that I felt like the all were on edge a little.......with Darth Vader Pelchen summing their comments up each time.......I can just imagine how it was when Lyon was in on these chats........less ' hes a good kid'...... and more.........'you got any stats to show hes a good kid?'Con Gorozidis wrote:Very interesting footage...saintbrat wrote:discussion by the saints recruitment team in their corporate box at Etihad

I would be surprised if they didn't meet and discuss every one of the draft prospects. How could they possibly know what order they will all come out.

Re: Saints Recruiters meeting- exclusive vision
That was great to see. I'd love to see the stuff that wasn't included - i.e. no one really expressed any negatives.
My other thought was - What a great job!

Re: Saints Recruiters meeting- exclusive vision
The club has been great with their online content these past few years.
I found it interesting that Richo seemed to take a back seat in the discussion. I know he's not technically a recruiter but he will end up responsible for the players performances.

I doubt the content would consist of any state secrets or major revelations, but it was still fantastic to watch the process. I could watch that for hours.
Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

The discussion of interest re Pick 1 is not Petractor over others but more if there was any discussion re trading pick 1 for multi picks/players.
Dunno if we'll ever see that one as trading strategies should be kept in house and never made public

Re: Saints Recruiters meeting- exclusive vision
"Good country kid", "the family know an honest days work"...bla bla any other rusted on cliches they could find!! give me a break...Boring, zero 'real' insight...didn't like it. How about...mmm yeah Caleb Daniels good, quick, good footy smarts...ok let's go round the room...where do we rank him in the draft and why...then it may have been interesting.
Can't imagine any of those underlings in the room even expressing 1 inch of disagreement with Pelican, especially when you got 3 hand held cameras floating around the room giving us profile picks of Pekicans giant schnozzola!! As one with a big beak myself, he couldn't have been happy with some of those angles
In sum, token, gimmick, no real insight or grunt. But that's just my opinion. Maybe I'm grumpy cause Theres no footy on this weekend

Re: Saints Recruiters meeting- exclusive vision
They do it alphabetically by first name. That was the Caleb section. It's a very long process. They had just finished the Cales and they were about to move on to the Callans.saint-stu wrote:I would be surprised if they didn't meet and discuss every one of the draft prospects. Always really hard the first week after footy finishes. Next week as the trading ramps up will be better.

Re: Saints Recruiters meeting- exclusive vision
I agree about lack of insight. I appreciate the effort made by the club to be open, but I pray that is not really how it works. These guys are supposed to be experts, our future is dependent on their choice' s. I couldn't give a monkeys if their family are 'good working people' or not. Does that mean any gun players who are sons of freaky bohemian dole recipients won't be considered? The family dog isn't of as much interest as, say, he they'll be at playing footy.Saint wagga wrote:"Good country kid", "the family know an honest days work"...bla bla any other rusted on cliches they could find!! give me a break...Boring, zero 'real' insight...didn't like it. I hope these guys know what they are doing. We need better drafting than the past.
