Maybe return to 1 ruck and bring Membrey back. Membrey in all of his games provided more in the forward line than a resting ruck has. Also provides more of that pressure we are building off.
edit; it was already stated above, i agree with those guys lol

Just remember we played an exceptional skilled team today. They are what we strive for and eventually to be better. We will learn a lot from that game. The club had its own stationary camera as high as is possible to watch the player movement patterns. The experience will be invaluable.
Minimal changes. Expect Hugh to debut.

Shenton was given the ridiculous task of minding Gunston...the fact he only got a few goals was lucky. Shents did okay considering. The score line didn't reflect the way we played. We actually were really unlucky with the forward line not scoring easily not helped by never getting frees for the hawks illegal negating techniques. I was actually impressed with how we played at times. It sounds crazy after a 10 goal loss but there was not that big a gulf. The umpires and a bit of arseing goals helped blow it out. I thought we were probably around a 5 goal worse team on the night. I reckon we are 2 years from being a better team than them.
A ten goal loss says we can improve.
I'm not sure but Hickey didn't earn his keep and Shenton probably could come out for a tall. Sinclair or Lonie could come out to give Minch a spot.

So Weller and DMac don't come back in?tony74 wrote:Just remember we played an exceptional skilled team today. They are what we strive for and eventually to be better. Seb gets plenty of the ball and would have run more than his share of kms.
But he doesn't attack the ball hard enough.
He needs to learn from Geary.
Got to a lot of balls but didn't win enough hard balls.
Dropped a few marks esp. Inside the F50 that he should have swallowed.

Read you for a while. Like others you don't get many right. I gather you are some sort of volunteer. It's good to see the club don't let you in on anything. That would be poor for a club to do that

Tone - what does the Minch have to do to get a game? Hasnt put a foot wrong in about 10 of his last 12 VFL games (including late last year).
Is it because his name is 'Darren' and not 'Jack'? You can't hold that against a kid surely. Blame that on the parents not the kid. He didn't name himself you know.

Keep up the good work Tony. I reckon you know it's Steven and not Stevens. You're off to a shakey start Lenny.lennyhaze wrote:tony74 wrote:Just remember we played an exceptional skilled team today. Sorry I didn't mention Stevens on here. Anyway ive read Tony for a while and he never gets anything right. I went back and looked at his posts and he didn't work for the club 3 years ago and is an older man so its unlikely he has any role of note. That is fine but he shouldn't pretend he does. And if he did work for the club in a paid role then he certainly shouldn't be telling us anything on here. That would be really poor. Pull your head in Tony.

Re: Changes next week
Out: Shenton, Hickey, Acres, Sinclair/Schneider (depending on who they decide to RL- most likely Sinclair)
In: Weller, Goddard, McKenzie, Dunstan
I don't think they should drop Acres- I just have a feeling they will. Unlike Billings and Dunstan, the coaches (for whatever reason) don't yet see him as an automatic selection. He didn't have a great game today so it'll be interesting to see whether they persevere or swap him out for McKenzie.

He's a bit green, Acres, but he really got going as the game wore on.stjay wrote:Excellent grab. Must have been a contender for mark of the day.SainterK wrote:

BTW, we can't go on calling him Acres as we have the metric system here in Australia

I don't think you were at the game last night, Ray & Schneids were in the best performers. No way they will even be discussed to be dropped.

Hickey - awkward slow
Schneider - give young player his spot - minchington.
Ray - some talent but time to give Wright this spot
Ross - too slow no urgency.
Shenton - runs out of legs early

I thought so too. Schnieders work rate was phenomenal. He has really worked on his fitness in the last few years. He looked a genuine on baller and so many clever little link ups and work off the ball. I was on level 3 last night and you get a really good idea of who pulls their weight from up there. Geary was fantastic also, he is one of the most important players on the ground for spread and contested work. joey makes a big difference too.

Re: Changes next week
Markworth & Sippos are both due to come back onto the main list this week so it's quite likely that Sinclair & Schneider will have to go back to the rookie list.
On a side note, Luke Dunstan was interviewed in the Victory room after the game & rates Blake Acres pretty high. Said he'll be better than himself, Eli & Billings combined!

Gilbert must be close to getting a game. If he's match fit I'd expect him to come in. Dunstan will also come back, along with Weller.snoopygirl wrote:Markworth & Sippos are both due to come back onto the main list this week so it's quite likely that Sinclair & Schneider will have to go back to the rookie list.

The one hole we've got is in defence. We need another genuine key defender. Dempster, Roberton and Gilbert are all tall enough but none of them is a KPD.
Opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one.
