disappointing.
rest him up......much bigger fish to fry.
Actually trained the whole session today with the main group.

Club must be tanking....Dont tell plugger
Lol Pluggs will have him over for dinner......he knows all the players......he's 10.

That said, I truly hope they dont rush Billings absolutely no need he is the future.
Agreed - same with Goddard, and McCartin, DMac and Sinclair. Rotate them and give them exposure, but no need to kill them this year.

We are still likely to be bottom four this year

Disappointing Jack is out for the Doggies. After his brilliant 4 goal game for us last time we played them. I reckon he received Brownlow votes that day.

I thought Billings as the difference last time we played the Doggies, big loss

The physio's weekly injury video update on the club website makes mention of the "little stress response" and the need to "get through training on Thursday", so that would indicate that they were taking precautions to prevent full blown stress fractures and he is fairly close to returning....

Not too worried, I'd like to see it fixed properly and if that takes time so be it.

His absence gives someone else opportunity. That's good.

Can someone tell me why he has been training over this period and not resting. Is now a 10 week injury at best.

For anyone looking for the source of the comments above:
ST KILDA picked up no new injuries on the weekend, although Jack Billings will miss at least the next month after further scans on his injured shin.

Although Billings is set for a spell on the sidelines, Head physiotherapist Andrew Wallis reiterated that the left-footer isn’t suffering from a stress fracture - rather a stress response - which they will treat with caution.

“We are just going to take our time with Jack,” Wallis told SAINTS.com.au

“He’ll miss 4-6 weeks but we will see how he progresses through.”

While we would all love Billings to be available there is no shortage of players desperate for a spot in the 22.

Ross has down very well since coming back into the 22.
Weller played a great game as defensive HF against the Dons.
Murdoch would love to strut his stuff
Minch would love another chance
I wonder how McKenzie would go asa half-forward? Has pace and is agreat mark.
Markworth if he can find some form now fit.

Heads up: that purple text is pretty much illegible with the dark background.

Thanks for the informative post all the same.

Bummer, that would have been LTI if we knew. Still happy that we are being careful.

I'm glad for the explanation at last. He was pretty much the only listed player I didn't spot at yesterday's Auskick super clinic (my son was desperate for him to sign his number 15 away Guernsey) and I was starting to seriously worry he had been spirited away by aliens ... !

Same here, but if you highlight it it shows up fine.

No need at all to rush Billings back. Fairly normal to get that kind of injury at that age and he will make a full recovery.

But
Although Billings is set for a spell on the sidelines, Head physiotherapist Andrew Wallis reiterated that the left-footer isn’t suffering from a stress fracture - rather a stress response - which they will treat with caution.
sounds like weasel words and sounds like maybe they pushed him too hard too soon (not that we have ever done that before....)

Taking time is important - don't need another Luke Ball scenario.

I thought it was the exact opposite. I think you will find that the club is being cautious.

Ta, but what dark background????? Also I chose a blue font, which is also blue in my screen.

My background is the very light grey as I find it the best for clarity.

I would imagine that selecting a dark background would make many things hard to read???
