saints game day experience

Post: # 1574613Post seano1 »

I must give credit to the saints management.....while i haven`t been to any other clubs game so i cant judge them i`m finding what the saints are doing is great the music hype give aways this might not get everyone in but they are giving it a red hot go. Maybe we will get female game on beforehand the main game in the future and we are on to it with a female mascot a first i think, being on the front foot with social issues is terrific and this will bring more support to this great club...well done

You can't be serious.

The tug of war?
The dance-off between the mascots?
The woman with the mega-decimal shrieky voice?
The vacuous idiot interviewing the kids about the drawings?
The load rap music?

We are NOT Americans!
We are capable of conversation!
The best matchday experience this year was when Phil Walsh died and they left us in peace to actually talk to each other during the breaks.

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

I don't like the "make some noise"

It eliminated all those saints fans that took it upon themselves to start the StKilda chant.

Maybe they could have fans like that on screen starting the chant instead?

I don't think they are doing it for a 60 year old. Its for the younger guys. If you cant talk whilst they are doing it then you better get the hearing checked. I cant see how any of this hurts. I don't like it but surely it doesn't hurt the people who don't like it.

Hang on. We had a genuine Yank playing on Saturday! Make him feel at home.

A women's match would be awesome. I'm biased as I've got two daughter's who'd I assume like to watch a women's game.

Oh dear!
It's racist in exactly the same way that saying that the Kiwis and Windies are playing the Aussies in test cricket this summer.
Or that we were just beaten by the Poms in the Ashes.

I'd say it to him...but I'm a short arse and, unless I am standing on a chair, I wouldn't be at eye level.

It's all about context and delivery.
Having lived in the USA for a number of years I never came across any of them offended by the term "yank".

I have just asked an American friend for her view on being called a Yank. She said she doesn't consider it to be racist or offensive but it depends on how you're saying it. If it was used in a derogatory way or meaning it as an insult it would bother people but that really goes for any term. I then told her exactly what saintspremiers wrote and she replied that she definitely wouldn't consider it as a racist remark and and if anything it sounded like it was used in a positive way.

now i`m an old fella who used to watch the under19`s through to the senior games at Moorabbin and i can see what they are trying to do........now to my mind growing up and seeing ac/dc in pubs...they weren`t playing rap music and as i recall dont remember hearing any played on the night.
It gets the young ones in thats the main thing and i`m sure if you went to Moorabbin ...there was nothing but go get another beer sit on the bluestone and read the record .
