Not a very exciting, nab cup team. I was hoping to see some of the new draftees again.

I think our senior players need to get some match conditioning too!

So what are the changes from the previous squad.

From memory, I see Membrey, Armo, Roo, Wright, Joey, and Holmes in

and McCartin, Goddard out.

Well thats interesting I see Spencer White is still out injured according to saints.com.au
The reason I looked was to see whats happening with Longer, thought he was due back, Hickey and Holmes to ruck again which I'm looking forward to seeing.

Curren named again, go TC.
And a lot of welcome inclusions,Roberton, Membrey apart from the obvious.

Acres to have another crack at it.

Alls good

Is Lewis Pierce injured? I'd like to see him get a run.

I don't think the actual conditioning the players will get from this match will be of much use. It's going to be played in a monsoon.
I rate the Brisbane midfield, and think they have 1 or 2 very good key position defenders, but without Beams and a couple of others I think we should be able to win this at least.

That's very true, I thought the nab cup wld be an audition for our rookie listed players. With the opportunity of a promotion on offer.

Mackay has had lots of rain the past few days.

Could be another 100+ mm between now and Sunday to come.

Given its only nab game they should look at relocating the game further South in QLD.

Can't see how they'll be able to play thanks for ex cyclone Winston!

Correct, is definitely hot, humid and wet, and I'm well south of Mackay

Watched the March 1st injury report and we just about have a full list to select from

McCartin hamstring hopeful for next week
D Mac glandular fever 1-2 weeks away
Rice glandular fever probably a little further away than D Mac

Pierce, Longer not selected

Didn't you read Tony's post?

Just a question - have you ever been to QLD or tropical areas during the wet season when it is actually wet?
The humidity will be oppressive. The rain could be torrential also. If ground is wet then the sun comes out it will be a sauna. Not the place for kids to be playing.

Really clever scheduling by the AFL at this time of year.

Does Sandy have any practice matches in the next few weeks?

Really?

It is about getting minutes of game time into every player. So you can't keep playing the young players and not get the minutes into the seniors.

There was an interview with Issaac Smith during the Hawthorn game last week where he said he was down to play a certain number of minutes over the two games. The minutes were different for every player depending on age, injury etc

And that is what it is about.

Almost all the youngsters played the intra praccy game as well so they've actually had a couple of games to strut their stuff. If we see someone like Gresham in the final NAB game that's probably an indication they are in consideration for Rd 1 otherwise they might just be playing Sandy prac games.

Not sure if its been mentioned anywhere, but Newnes has withdrawn from the squad, replaced by Sinclair (to maintain the minimum Jacks policy )
