I'd like to claim I'm a footballing guru (but I'm not p66), but it's only common sense. Round 2, just out of a pre-season, you want a team of guys to be accountable then they should go out and do it again properly...there's been enough signs over the last 2 weeks we know what we're doing.

Don't like our sloppy backline? Too bad, we were hardly going to replace what we have with Sandy's backline and achieve a better result.

Luckily the club knows a lot more than we do about football, I'm happy to see them working on development of the team rather than panic over 2 losses.

Sounds about right Guru.

I reckon Longer might come in if Roo misses.

Use Hickey forward, he demands a better (and bigger) defender than Membury.

The last 2 years of playing Lee down back is a waste if they bring him into the Seniors to play up forward.

It doesn't seem like you hate to say it.

You say it over and over again in every thread on the board.

On the afl.com site it says that Membrey trained with the team this morning on their 'captains run' (???? why it's called that I don't know??) and he seems set to go if there is a change to the team.
It doesn't mention if the other 2 emergencies Lee& Longer were at that training session.

Ball use was a result of the game plan which was to handball out of the back line and try kick it over the top to get a goal out the back.

If we couldn't get it over the top, the idea was to kick it 10-15m away and a turnover occurs.

Looked to me that the player were doing what they were told. Problem is no supporters believe in that style of play, and when it was clearly not working, there was no plan B.

Doggies never did that rubbish at all. It was always handball out back, kick wide to a loose player. For us, it was Russian roulette handballs to stationary players.

Still can't believe Acres, Lee nor Wright are in the side.

Please for crying out loud put Geary on the wing and let Newnes play on the back flank where he belongs.

Give us something to look forward to.

I simply worry that what I'll see is that we bring Cloke back into form (as per Jack Reiwault).

Wright's kicking and decision making are worse than Geary's, so I see no logic in bringing him in. Acres is inconsistent with effort. Lee is being held out by Roberton.

Those suggested inclusions don't necessarily amount to an improvement in personnel or performance.

Keep your heads up, keep your hearts strong Sainters.

I realise I'm being greedy wishing for bags of goals for both BRRRUUUUCCCHEEEY!!
& PAAAAAADDDYYYYYY!!

But in a year of development some sweet times can still happen.

Midfield is another issue. I think there should have been more changes given last week's result.

At least shifting gilbert and newnes back is acknowledgement that we were hopeless getting it out of defence last week. Surely Savage and Gilbert are on notice? And Geary. Despite the coach's nonsense comments on Monday that he did a good job on Dalhaus.

Good luck tomorrow Minch

But Looks to me like he wont be playing in the midfield, so we'll be wondering why he only got 12 possessions when playing as a defensive forward.

Not enough changes for my liking, seems were more interested in playing the way we would like to rather showing any respect to the opposition team, for example who plays on Cloke, team balance doesn't reflect our selections.

Pies by 4 goals but will happily eat my hat if its closer

I'm sure that with the limited 90 rotations that he'll rotate through the middle switching in and out with Sinclair or Billings potentially (acknowledging that Minch is more inside than Billings).

Coach will play him as a defensive fwd to satisfy his confirmation bias. Heaven forbid he play midfield and dominate. Noone likes to be proven wrong. Least of all a head coach who has an ego and a contract to protect.

Bookies have us with a chance. $2.40 to $1.60.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Rooey wont get to 320 games (maybe not even 310), I hope he gets to 350, but it won't happen!
I always thought his dodgy knee would determine the end of his career.

But it may well be his head.

That impact he got today was not a strong impact.
Yet it gave him concussion.
This is not the first case of concussion he has had.
The medical staff may well issue an ultimatum to him.
At his age, recently married and having re-evaluated things after the death of his sister it wouldn't surprise me if he decided to pull up stumps and retire before he does lasting mental damage.
(Hope i am wrong though  )

Passed the concussion test, but medicos still wanted him to sit. Not sure what to make of that.

I owe AR a sorry,

Yesterday I watched Minch very closely as I am a fellow massive believer in the lad. AR said he has a developing tank he has to work on. He's right! Minch did drop off a few time he needs to work on it. AR also started to rotate him though the middle after Roo and Paddy left so AR wants to him in there. He's taking his time with Minch not overdoing it so he wont crash.

as we saw, once minch got onto the ball he's game just started firing up. kids going to be something special imo.

AR knows what he's doing. I was getting a bit worried about him as a coach.. personally think i overreacted to one terrible game. Yesterday I could really see our game play and its good looking footy.
