The AFL should publically acknowledge the umpires error, and acknowledge his innapropriate Twitter page, and publicly suspend him from umpiring duties for a meaningfull period of time.

The first call was incorrect - clearly 15 metres (the distance between the far goal post and the point post is 12.8m). The second one looked less than 15 to me - although greater than 10 (using the length of the square as guidance which is 9m). Of course, the first one led to the second. Judging distance on the field depends on perspective, which is why it is wrong to call play on if you think it is 14.5 or 14 or 13 metres. If the AFL doesn't think 15 is far enough, then make it 20 but with a tolerance of 2 or 3. That is, it clearly has to be less than 20.

While I agree that our poor skills cost us the game and the 8 turnovers that resulted in Hawthorn goals I am still disgusted that the umpire who made those ridiculous calls is on twitter with the Hawthorn Premiership banner as his back page??? Surely some of the footy shows need to pick this up and run with it.
