Pavlich

Post: # 1616734Post saintbob »

Geez poor old Pav would be ruing the day he let RL talk him into going around one more year.

He is actually embarrassing himself now, he can't get to the contest let alone stay in one, can't keep his feet and his kicking lacks both accuracy and penetration when he does get it.

Don't get me wrong this bloke was an out and out champion of the game, and I reckon he deserves to be the one to say when enough is enough and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't announce it this week.

I'd definitely hate to see Riewoldt go out like this, but the way he is playing we won't have to worry for a couple more seasons yet.

It's sad... Like Goodes

1 year too long... They mis-read the tea leaves

Retire with dignity now... It's not abandoning a sinking ship, he deserves to go out on his terms.. And they need to develop another forward.

Hes absolutely cooked. he barely provided a contest even with the ball placed on his head.

You can really see he has fallen off the wagon when his direct opponent for the day was only 6 months younger and dominates him in a way that he never would have let happen in years past.

Agree. He was once so dynamic now he is anything but. I hope he retires in Freemantle in front of their crowd next week after a win against Essendon.

I agree, except for comment about Goodes, different story altogether.

Thats what Roo would have looked like if Ross was still the coach.

Pav was fantastic in his day and if he played for a Victorian team he would have received a lot more accolades.

I admire his loyalty as I do our own Rooey.

Screw him anyway he was a gun player at his peak but always seemed like a s*** bloke, always trying to intimidate and demean youngsters from the other side by shoving that big nose in their face and talking tough. I'm glad he went too long and will finish a spud who won nothing hope they get the spoon...

Sad to see champions struggle when they are cooked. I honestly feel Pav has played one season too many. How well matched are Fisher and Pav on yesterday? I reckon Sammy is a moral to call it a day; he's appeared to struggle this season. Playing on Pav he looked to turn the clock back five years in the first quarter. After that he just played a stopper role. Pav's loss of mojo put Sam amongst our best players.

If Fisher doesn't have to play that 1st key back when someone like Carlisle and/or Goddard come in then he may be able to play on as that second or third tall back and go back to what he did best - intercept.

Another ridiculous error of judgment from Lyon.

Lyon is back pedaling now and trying to salvage his reputation by dog whistling about tanking.

But Lyon 100% believed Freo were going to be contenders this year and 100% talked Pav in to playing again because of that belief.

Just a ridiculous bloke. Lyon is being exposed for the fraud he is. Still trying to play the Swans 2005 game plan that he learnt from Paul Roos 11 years ago.

Had 10 AA players on the books at St Kilda and still managed to stuff it up.

Pav was a great player. Ornament to the game really. Never did anything wrong. Played fair and clean.

Pav's kick from outside 50, early in 4th Qtr, was badly sprayed.
He got into space well enough to receive the ball after his first handpass, but his next effort was sadly ineffective- it went well wide.
He was truly cooked.
Lyon has ruined this bloke.
