I'm only listening to the radio, which i find completely uninstructive, but it looks like without Weller, Membrey & Steven we'd be down by 15 goals against the worst team the comp has seen since Fitzroy folded. Why? How?
Good on the three fellas mentioned above. Here's a good stat for Skunk
Tim Membrey has contributed 36 points to the scoreboard in this game and has now contributed 201 points since round six, 74 points more than any other Saint.

Well, it is the only 'opinion piece' I've seen written on us in a long time, which essentially repeats we're not going anywhere every time we lose, or we might surprise a few people every time we win.mullet wrote:with all due respect if we have to rely on that to get us up we have real probsdegruch wrote:Damien Barrett might comment on how crap he thinks we are in Sliding Doors again...mullet wrote:unfortunately we are irrelevant in the afl worldjonesy wrote:I hope the afl world put the club on notice this week,we deserve it. On a serious note, I want to know what will inspire this team to get up and go.

Geary cops a lot from supporters but he has been massive today. He, skunk and Steven the only positives in one of the worst performances of the year

Just look at Jack Steven's stat line...he has picked up this team and carried them over the line. As hard working as any player we've had.

Just when we needed a percentage boost we pull out a performance like this... our percentage is so bad we are an extra game back.. not that it matters with performances like this

Re: Saints v Bombers match thread
hey im right with you. In all honesty I think its mental. Not sure if that is a young thing, but we have seen they have the ability, just really frustrating when they dont bring it every week. Still, at least we can vent here.degruch wrote:Well, it is the only 'opinion piece' I've seen written on us in a long time, which essentially repeats we're not going anywhere every time we lose, or we might surprise a few people every time we win.mullet wrote:with all due respect if we have to rely on that to get us up we have real probsdegruch wrote:Damien Barrett might comment on how crap he thinks we are in Sliding Doors again...mullet wrote:unfortunately we are irrelevant in the afl worldjonesy wrote:I hope the afl world put the club on notice this week,we deserve it. Roberton has been sensational today , he looks an elite player in the makingTom_Sainter wrote:Geary cops a lot from supporters but he has been massive today. He, skunk and Steven the only positives in one of the worst performances of the year

Re: Saints v Bombers match thread
We need to put an armitage, Ross, newnes, Dunstan, acres on the table . It will upset some people but boohoo , we have a flat footed non line breaking midfield, 1-2 with value have to go, or we stay in Death Valley for a decade staying mid table . 2 good trades will turn it around, let's see what we do

Re: Saints v Bombers match thread
Pretty crap effort really. Richo finally giving a spray at three quarter time which was good
Steven amazing , Ross great, Hickey destroyed a ruckman who he should destroy (still a positive) and Membrey is so reliable in front of goal. Winning close games is always a positive and more may of been gained from the match than a 50 point win
I feel like the coalition being disappointed with a victory.

Well right off the bat Ross and Newnes come off that list as they are trajecting upwardsjonesy wrote:We need to put an armitage, Ross, newnes, Dunstan, acres on the table . Acres clearly doesn't have the fitness
Dunstan is lagging but I still reckon he'll come good.
My question... Is Armitage playing like the A-Grade mid we need him to be?

As bad as they were today, and they were very ordinary, we have suffered plenty of devastating losses over the journey that make today look like a premiership by comparison. A win is a win is a win. As Yabby would've said, "we were just glad to get the four points". Sums up my feelings exactly. Move along folks. Next week, here we come. Equal 9th, I believe.

Re: Saints v Bombers match thread
The problem is you can make a case for all of them, but as a collective, it's mediocre. Someone needs some balls and nouse at the trade table. We can't contend with these guys all in our midfield, it's too averageskeptic wrote:Well right off the bat Ross and Newnes come off that list as they are trajecting upwardsjonesy wrote:We need to put an armitage, Ross, newnes, Dunstan, acres on the table . Re: Saints v Bombers match thread
Dunstan is very average
7 kicks tonight against an ageing or baby opposition midfield
He just doesn't damage.
I don't care what his defenders say who want him to be good... He's not
Bontempelli is good
Cripps is good
Kelly is good
Merrett is good
Daniel is good
Dust an is as slow as a wet week... His legs are like little stumps and he was burnt of by James Kelly who is 33yo

Re: Saints v Bombers match thread
fell over the line against a VFL side...ouch.
having said that the Cheats may have a good side next year...certainly better than ours atm. We just don't have the intensity every week. Josh Bruce....?? will he find the right position and improve?
