At some stage he's going to have to be accountable, here's hoping he knows what he's doing. I'll be more than happy to say yeah Richo you were right. but If I hear we were out coached or under manned in defense or I didn't see that coming I'll be more than P Off

So I'm sure Richo will have a cunning plan.
You do realize that Richo is only one of 5 selectors?
They can all point at each other when Hogan kicks 12.

Perhaps we bring Templeton in for Dempster to completely baffle them...

Disappointed in no Eli. If we are a developing side why not give Montagna a rest and give Eli a go off half back?

Also why are we persisting with the belief that the 2009 backline is going to win the 2020 grand final. The backline is still too old and someone people want Fisher in there as well. Beggars belief. We are too short down back and Fisher is not the answer. Carlisle is the answer.

Lots of talk about how Melbourne haven't won at Etihad since Norm Smith was coach but tomorrow they are a big chance of breaking their hoodoo.

Lonie to take Hogan.
He can punch Hogan's kneecaps when he's taking a mark

They can break all they like tomorrow. Lucky for us that the game is on Sunday.

It's going to get ugly. Hogan will get 7 goals again, Joey and Gilbo will stuff up big time and give up easy goals.
Riewoldt to have 4 shots at goal for 2 behinds and 2 out on the full.
And we're playing finals in 2017?

Read the tea leaves - Eli's name is inked in to be delisted so no point playing him

The Demons have a huge inclusion in Andrew Stephens number 12. He's a game breaker!

So our key defenders will be 191 slow Dempster, Roberton who has only played a few games in a key role and Gilbo who is up and down like a rollercoaster. God have mercy on our backline.

We need stacks more run and creativity from the back. But they want to keep all their comfy underpants - Dempster, Geary, Gilbo, Monty and instead drop the only true KPD in Delaney and not put Lee in either because his papers looked stamped. I think that creates real structural issues at the back. If Hogan gets off the leash I can't see anyone to match it with him physically.

Losing Savage's drive from the back puts even more pressure on Joey as the play maker creator from the back. We are way too one-dimensional there. Maybe Billings can give some play making and good kicking from the back. Acres is the other who I thought initially would be that Goddard type sweeper, quarter back who could set up play as he seems to read the play well. Maybe they try him at that. But his disposal hasn't been great so far.

Got a bad feeling about this. I think its poor selections.

Amazed by the lack of faith shown.

Dempster has the experience and knowledge to pull Hogan's pants down.

So long as the midfield don't allow easy take always and I50's Robbo and co will cut across everytime.

Haven't lost to this mob in a decade and I don't expect that to change on Sunday.

The calls of moving Bruce down onto Hogan are absolutely ridiculous.

Just let Melbourne worry about how they'll stop our forwards.

Hogan kicked 7 last time, Skunk, Roo and Bruce kicked 11

my dream for Sunday, 1. we win keep the hoodoo on the Dee's. 2. Ritcho plays Minch and Sincs through the middle only resting them in forward pocket.. as I read on BF he loves playing high performing mids for sandy in the Graceland of the defensive forward *_*

The players know they didn't play well last week even though they got the 4 points in the end, so I'm expecting them to come out firing tomorrow.

Not really worried about Hogan too much as I think we have enough firepower to get over the top of them again.

Richo clearly wasn't happy after the game last week, so I'd be very surprised if we put in a repeat performance this week.

It's such a strange thing that Richo hates height in the backline but loves old, slow players with poor skills and no run.

The good news is of course that Melbourne's backline is even worse than ours.

Joey ran thru the goals against the Suns and gave away a goal.
Kicked the turf last week on a kickout.
Makes poor choices for kicks that a first year player would make.
All the above could be excused in a youngster as just "learning experiences" but unforgiveable in a "leader"

I just want to say I was wrong. Fear of Hogan and a short backline entirely misplaced. Defenders played out of their skins today. Gears and Robbo out and out stars today.

Yep,
Seems like the selectors/coaches actually know a little more about the game than many 'experts' on here.
The defensive structure put into place seemed to work really well once they were able to lock down on the ball movement coming from Melbourne's half back line.
