Richo trying not to be boring? Does he read Saintsational?

Post: # 1626034Post White Winmar »

I am a fan of the coach, but I think he might have been preparing for a career in politics in the presser on Sunday. I have a problem with Richo's assertion that our third quarter against the snow bunnies was our best for the year. Logically speaking, getting beaten on the scoreboard in a quarter indicates you failed to carry out the primary directive. That is, out scoring the opposition. No matter how well you do all the other things that go to making up a complete performance, if you can't put the score on the board, you've failed. We missed four relatively straightforward set shots in the 3rd. Bad kicking for goal is bad football, Richo.

Maybe it was a throwaway line caused by a bit of over excitement. He must have been very pleased with the overall performance, but really, Richo? Maybe it's that he's normally so measured and conservative in his comments that make this one stand out. Perhaps he reads SS and saw the thread on him being boring and dull. If the latter is the case, it shows the power of SS. Very pleasing, dare I say it. :D

Well quite clearly, you're wrong.

It's obvious, and has been for some time, that at our current state of development 'outscoring the opponent' is not the primary objective.

It will be at some point in the very near future. But clearly the foundations are still being laid.

Of course. How silly of me. It's obvious once you think about it.

Process not Outcome. Great coach-speak going on there. But as a coach myself (not footy) I know what he means.

But as a fan.... it means we are missing a 's***load' of goals!!

We've all been thinking about it for the past 3 seasons haven't we?

It's been blatantly obvious.
