He has a touch of magic about him.
He is the sort of player who could have a couple of special moments and win us a flag.

That's what I thought about Tony Lockett

100 goals in 14 games...Lockett is the key

Another season 70 goals from 9 games.
Just imagine what he could have done if he had remained fit for 24 or 25 games.

I'm still trying to work out how he kicked that goal - looked like it defied the laws of physics.

It did - 99 times out of 100 - that kick floats to the top of the square and is marked by the defender - the ugliness of the kick allowed it to 'float' awkwardly.

it was so disappointing with the essendon drugs saga that carlise didnt play this year, and also that freeman was injured as well, basically we had the same team as last year with the addition of rice (also injured) and a young player i knew nothing of called gresham.

he is a special player am absolutely thrilled with him. why didnt he go higher in the draft? he was a ready to go young player.

Size - his draft was all about big bodied mid fielders

At pick 18 that's a massive win for the recruiters. He is a gem, to play like that in his first ten games is scary stuff. Let's hope McCartin and Billings can follow his lead because that would be 3 of our first round draft picks becoming stars.

He is such a busy bee. He clocks in and then for two hours just work and works whether its pressuring on the forward line, cracking in in the middle or even just running to space to stretch the oppo. And he doesn't even have a first year tank yet. You can only imagine where he'll be in a few years. If/when he becomes an onballer he'll rack up big numbers every week just due to his work rate.

My only concern is he's still not really doing a lot of penetrating passing. He's got quite a chippy style of kick - would have loved if it was a bit flatter. If he finds his range with it then he could be a great set up player though.

I think his natural inclination when he's within range is to have a ping. This should be encouraged even at the risk of a berating from the skipper.

Apart from a couple of occasions, the having a ping inclination is working pretty well for him so far!

Our best indigenous player since Nicky, not Nick, Winmar. What a steal at #14. Carlisle and Gresham for pick 5. Deal of the decade ias it will come to be known, IMNSHO.

Haven't seen him kick over a line yet

At least he carries it a bit though, and has an amazing step which clears a path for him
