Tom Lee.....exit with dignity
Good article about Tom Lee being thankful for the opportunity he was given by the Saints and basically not being able to repay that faith shown in him mainly due to injuries. There were no sour grapes and he's still cheering for us. All the best for the future Tom....

Re: Tom Lee.....exit with dignity
I liked the kid personally and I was disappointed that his consistently solid VFL form didn't equate to more opportunity...
Like mist players IMO, he was the type that really needed to adjust at the level before you could say you see what he's really capable of.
Many here wrote him off quickly but i just don't reckon you can watch someone play 1-2 games of football and think you've got them figured it.

Onya Tommy. What a great bloke.
Shame Sandy didn't pick him up so we could still see him play.
Sadly he isn't AFL standard and extremely unlikely he will ever play at AFL level again, but he had a crack.

Great team man with a great footy mind and quality person. Pity his body let him down.
Good luck Tetlee!

Well done Tommy. I reckon he had the ability to be a good AFL footballer, unfortunately injuries and then our emerging depth denied him a good run at it.

Another Pelchen success! Pick 12 for Nathan Wright, in effect, who will struggle to get a game this year. Four years worth of value for pick twelve. Pelchen is a genius. Just ask him!

Re: Tom Lee.....exit with dignity
And GWS used that same pick #12 on Kristian Jaksch who did bugger all for them and ended up at Carlton where he's so far done sweet FA, played a dozen or so games total for both clubs. Rather have rolled the dice on Lee, Saunders and Wright, everything seems crystal clear in hindsight...White Winmar wrote:Another Pelchen success! What has what GWS doing with the pick we gifted them got to do with our decision. Milera and Saad? Lee? I love the way people bag Peake, but in reality, his record is in no way worse than the Pelican. Oh the irony of being a hindsight hero while accusing others of the sae!

Re: Tom Lee.....exit with dignity
Yeah that's right what eventually happened with the very pick you're all bitter and twisted about us trading is completely irrelevant, it was definitely going to be a future Saints superstar if we hadn't traded it for magic beans. Sorry to imply otherwise and nearly disrupt your precious narrative, of course everything you type is beyond reproach as always...White Winmar wrote:What has what GWS doing with the pick we gifted them got to do with our decision. Ooh, the repressed anger. Off to the therapist for you, my little snowflake. How dare I challenge your beliefs. You don't do irony and hypocrisy very well, do you?

They wasted a first round pick on a guy who was never an AFL standard foptballer.
Not Lee's fault

HTH. If you're the Pelican, and your outrage at an oblique criticism suggests you might be, then hello Chris, still railing against those who don't recognise your self appointed brilliance? If you're not the pelican, I also feel sorry for you, as I do for him.

Only because the evidence trashed my undying devotion to you and your brilliance. I wanted to believe. So much. In the end, you were another false prophet, pelican. We've had a few in our time at St.Kilda. You're just another one in a long line. It's why we've only won one flag. I thought you were WS. Maybe you are! I have faith in you and I believe you are the messiah. I should know. I've followed a few in my time.WindSister wrote:I'm the bloody Pelican !!

Wasted another Sunday listening to you old Jethro Tull vinyl, I'd guess.

Oh dear. I don't understand what you mean because you mistyped. Please explain? And this time, please don't misspell anything and get the grammar and syntax right. When trying to be smart, it's advisable to get your message right. Perhaps lay off the bottle a bit before posting, TFtB.

I don't own a jet hero Tull album. Some of the worst music, for want of a better word, ever recorded. Only those as thick as a brick would understand your reference. Then again, you posted it. Hoisted by your own petard, bush man. Folks are dumb .....

Thanks Tom for your efforts. Well done to overcome injuries and force your way back into the team this season. Even when the door looked to be closed, you still gave your all for Sandy. You have achieved what most of us can only dream about . You are an AFL footballer, and even better, you are a Saints footballer. Best wishes .
