I would say none. The only rider on that is if they think Wright could do a lock down job on Heath Shaw better than Minch. He kills us every time, although we do seem to kick it straight to him.

"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

None.

Last time, GWS smashed us for run.

Can't afford to lose a runner for a tall as some are suggesting.

Longer gets one more week but on what I've seen so far this year, Hickey is the superior footballer.

Hickey for Longer. We need a versatile ruckman for this one.

Id be leaving paddy in the two's. let the kid get some confidence until the bye rounds, let him take his time, get some confidence and let him strut his stuff in the VFL. Who cares if its against weaker opposition, the one thing that annoys me at senior level is he doesnt try to bully his opponent so id be leaving him at Sandy and getting him to kick bags every week.

Probably wouldnt make any changes this week. Id be giving Minch and Sinclair a run around considering their contracts are up soon.

Mc Cartin would have to be in the mix - and, in his short career to date, he has shown his credentials at AFL level so I do not understand some of the comment on here.

The days of Lockett are long since gone.

From there, the reason that the likes of Minchington, Sinclair, Lonie, Wright etc have not been able to establish at AFL level is that, whilst showing some flashes, they have been unable to show consistency from game to game.

The question would be if we go back to Wright because of his pace and hardness v Minchington and to ensure Shaw does not have the impact he had last time we played them.

Wright would appear better credentialed for that task.

Sinclair will probably stay, but will need to add to his performance of last week because there are Armitage, Dunstan and Freeman in the wings.

Then we get to the rucks.

My preference is Hickey because of what he brings at ground level and around the ground where he can be used as a target when under pressure and where Longer simply can not be.

We allowed Geelong to have an extra, rotating tall and that hurt us badly - so we need to look at structure.

What worked last week is not guaranteed to work this week.

Freeman is miles off. Will not play for Saints this year.

Those giants are a lawless mob.
We need to holler for a Marshall.
Minch out but that is unfair.

Small forwards be it Lonie, Long or Minchington or even Milne struggle to hold their place.
It is the toughest role to play in the game.
You have to block for leading forwards, win your own ball because you are too short to mark and no-one kicks to you and then have to run down defenders that others can catch.
AND then have heaps of possessions and kick multiple goals just to get a game next week.

The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Based on the size of Mumford I think Billy stays in for another week.

Paddy won't come into the side this week as he he current does not provide enough forward pressure, and GWS can be extremely dangerous on the rebound.

Would bet on no changes after a big win, but wouldn't be surprised if Wright comes in for Meatball.

On Freeman, we are just past the end of the first month of the season, with 4 months of Minor Round still to be completed.

In regards "small forwards" the game has moved on from Milne (and did before Milne retired).

Many Clubs have excellent "small Forward" options - it is just that our resources in that demographic are not as strong as they are at some other Clubs.

If you play in the forward line, you are a forward.

I am not one for "small forward" labels and there is no requirement to play a "small forward" - simply, you play your best forward options on any given week.

Tom Hawkins is a big marking forward, but he has no pressure at all, he can't or won't run when his team doesn't have the ball
Doesn't seem to like chasing, seems to think "let one of the speedsters go after the bloke!"

3 Possible changes, I don't think we will make any more than 1 change unless forced by injury or "management".

In: Hickey, Out: Longer
In: McCartin, Out: ??
In: Wright, Out: Minchington

Assuming you bring him in, who exits for McCarten? When he was omitted he was replaced by Long (and Armo for Savage that week). Is Roo fit enough to play up the ground?

No change- that team deserves reward for a great effort against the Hawks. Paddy hasn't set the world on fire, and would need to kick a few bags of 7 goals in the VFL before getting a nod in the seniors. We need skilled runners/ goal kickers like Minch, and he should be given plenty of senior games to develop.

Minchington debuted in 2013, and has since played 25 games kicking 21 goals.

The only other players on our current List to debut in 2013 were Webster and Wright (which is a commentary in itself).

I am sorry, but I just do not see Minchington as a skilled runner/goal kicker who should be given plenty of senior games to develop.

His struggle will be to remain on the List past this season, and not joining the likes of Templeton, Curren and Murdoch.

No Change.

Not sure why some are wanting Minch out?

Ok but quiet game against the Hawks after an outstanding game against the Cats.

It is difficult for small forwards to post good stats every week. Dropping a player based on one game is not justified unless a player was horrific.

Did Minch do what the coaches wanted? I suspect the answer would mainly be yes.
