Ins and Outs compared to Round 23
Tonight we will get our first team for the new. All they will do is say who’s new to the club (Clarke) in our Round 1 team.
But what we want is the changes from our last game vs Richmond
Clearly, Roo needs replacing. Maybe Weller and Lonie go out also but for who?
Hickey for Longer
Paddy for Weller are my early picks
Here is Round 23 vs Richmond (don’t think there were late changes?)
B Jarryn Geary , Nathan J. Brown , Dylan Roberton
HB Jack Steele , Jake Carlisle , Jimmy Webster
C Jack Billings , Luke Dunstan , Shane Savage
HF Jack Lonie , Nick Riewoldt , Jack Sinclair
F Jade Gresham , Josh Bruce , Tim Membrey
FOL Billy Longer , Sebastian Ross , Jack Steven
I/C Blake Acres , Jack Newnes , Koby Stevens , Maverick Weller

Re: Ins and Outs compared to Round 23
No pre season form to go on apart from a few good signs from Steven and some promising signs from Coff and Clarke. Just chuck a team in and see who is fairdinkum, and who is making up numbers.

This is what I'd like to see...
I like Billy & Brown & Webster but I've got rid of the lumbering slow units and those who have no flexibility.
I'm using skills and pace in the backs and Marshall can ruck and Bruce go forward or back.
B Geary Roberton Savage
HB Sinclair Carslile Coffield
C Newness Ross Billings
HF Armitage McCartin Dunstan
F Gresham Membrey Clark
R Bruce Steele Steven
INT Acres Marshall Gilbert Lonie

but if we played marshall, would much rather have gilbert alternating the ruck duties than bruce.
gotta leave marshall out for now, and go with longer.

Dunny's not even an emergency so I wonder if there's an injury/illness issue at the last minute.

Lions actually look half decent. No pushovers. Josh Walker and Nick Robertson probably their two worst players.

Very surprised with no Dunstan
Why?
Because of his last 6 games last year and he should now be entering his early peak

Re: Ins and Outs compared to Round 23
Jeez who has Long been shagging! Hard to make a case for Long’s spot but I’m more excited by it. Surprised to see Gilbert out as well, though don't necessarily disagree with it. Looks like Bruth will be rucking.
We complain that we have too many HBF but the real problem is that we have too many one paced mids. It’s hard to justify having Dunstan, Armo, Steele and Stevens in the same team.
Looks like Armo has pinched his Luke’s spot. It’s a long year and Dunstan will get plenty of chances.

Re: Ins and Outs compared to Round 23
more surprised they have stevens in there, rather than long - dunstan showed much more than him late last season and in the jlt. obviously showed a lot at training, or dunny has pissed off the coach in some way.

Anyone who truly knows ruckwork (the skill of), understands that neither Hickledik or Marshall have done enough to take the spot away from Billy!!!!!realdeal wrote:Longer again.. geeez.. im looking forward to a Gawn like breakout..
Those in the know keep picking him, those not in the know, still don't, simple really!!!!!

Is there a bloke in this year's draft called Longest as we already have Long and Longer?stonecold wrote:Anyone who truly knows ruckwork (the skill of), understands that neither Hickledik or Marshall have done enough to take the spot away from Billy!!!!!realdeal wrote:Longer again.. geeez.. im looking forward to a Gawn like breakout..
