That loss hurt...alot

Post: # 1715935Post parkeysainter »

Nothing else to describe it as a fan of the Saints.

They were not only very very ordinary...it was more the way they lost and basically got rolled in that last quarter. Embarrassing against a bottom two side.

I doubt they have the ability to turn it around anytime soon. Bloody hell. What a disaster! I expect the side to show the ultimate ticker against the Crows.

C'mon don't be all doom & gloom! Its only round 2 of Richo's 5th season there's plenty of pleasing games to come!

I doubt there will be many pleasing games in our future - there will be plenty of pleasing passages of play and positive efforts - but I highly doubt that we will be putting in 120 minutes of pleasing football any time soon.

current Saints seem to fold spectacularly when there is a (admittedly rare) big occasion e.g. against Melb. last year when there was a chance to play finals, against Sydney after murphygate, against Port after clawing back they just handing over the game. No strong team spirit, no leaders being groomed. Dunstan needs to play because he is always hard at it even if out of form. Long and H-Clarke might well wonder what they have found themselves in. Clearly if 90% of the same players are selection certainties the results will remain poor; guys have to be turned over until the right stuff and a solid mentally strong talent base is found. Carlisle, Steven, Ross, Billings, Gresham, Acres, Roberton (?), Dunstan, Marshall (what more does the lad have to do, cannot be worse than poor Paddy) may be the few unnegotiable selections but the rest can be considered only as good as their last game. Coaching philosophy also seems to need a change and a much harder edge. If true as reported, asking the players why they didn't try is pretty weak; Richo needs to know why and make the players and himself accountable. I imagine he has already been told any more performances like yesterday make his position untenable. Appalling in so many ways.

There were some very ordinary performances by players yesterday, but the bigger worry was the team game, or lack of- the lack of motivation, system etc. The team came out lethargic, played sloppy football and just ran around like a bunch of rabbits with the ball when they got it.

I hope that new specialist kicking coach is on a performance based contract.

Probably doesn’t ease the pain or anger of the supporters but instead of the players/coaches all having today off they are all together at recovery and post game analysis. And they’re feeling the same I can assure you.

Sorry I was being an asshole in a mocking manner.

ASSHOLE DEFINED:

People we perceive as assholes use words as tools with no distinction, usually as a means to gratify their egos. They say insulting or harmful things (that they perceive as true, probably) even when doing so will result in no positive consequence. They use "honesty" as a means to internally justify their actions. But they have no intention of doing good through what they say.

So, Yes thats the jist of my original post

The coach has absolutely no idea what he is doing.
Having a 'stern' meeting the morning after a loss is amateur suburban stuff and reeks of clueless panic.
Embarrassing.

Don't think the analysis will take too long. Smashed in the ruck, smashed in contested possession and when we did finally get our hands on the ball couldn't hit a target with hand or foot

Richo should take his time setting up his new office...he might be wasting his time.

I am happy to supply cardboard boxes if he needs any.

What would you expect? Him to say "enjoy your break fellas". Of course they have to assemble at the earliest possible time and address issues. Its a no brainer.

The club has ceded all control to AFL house.
We are so poorly run we have been taken over by our creditors.
That is the reality nobody on here understands.
We are basically being run by the insolvency administrators. Essentially the club is nothing more than a fixture. A team that exists on the schedule for other teams to beat.

We need big money and we need a new regime to come in. From the top down. Summers is piss weak. Finnis is just an AFL appointment.

Yes I was possibly under an influence and in my twattery had a personal crack at parkey due to former posts where he tried to curb doom and gloom. It's obvious I'm an ass but I love this damn club.
