Re: Carlton Premiership in 2018
Ha ha - if we had won the JLTs, I would expect comments along the lines of: it was expected..as we're a club on rise, close to full strength, those games were a good indication of where we're heading, blah blah. Sadly, we lost the JLTs, and those games are apparently not so important. So if we lose to Brisbane, then it's because we don't want to peak too early? In reality, the JLT losses were embarrassing for Richo.

given the clubs supposed statement prior to aflx on going for the win regardless to set a winning culture, you're probably right.spert wrote:Ha ha - if we had won the JLTs, I would expect comments along the lines of: it was expected..as we're a club on rise, close to full strength, those games were a good indication of where we're heading, blah blah. That is EXACTLY what sits in the back of my mind when you have these "meaningless" praccy gamesdesertsaint wrote: given the clubs supposed statement prior to aflx on going for the win regardless to set a winning culture, you're probably right.
ok there are a few players that are not match fit and yes they tweak set ups and "plans" etc
but when that oval ball bounces in that random way the bl@@dy thing does - it comes down to you vs your opponent
and these guys love the competition, they have pride, and most want to win.

We did state we were going out to win every game to create that winning culture. Right on track. 0/2. 1/4 if we count the meaningless AFLX. As Charlie Sheen said, "Winning!"
"Is this the right room for an argument?"
"I told you once."
"No, you didn't."
"Yes, I did."
"Listen, an argument isn't just the automatic gainsaying of anything the other person says, it's a series of statements designed to support a particular conclusion."
"No, it isn't."
"Oh, I've had enough of this."
"No you haven't"
"Oh shut up."

Re: Carlton Premiership in 2018
Remember the 'winning culture' argument.
Now we are 'experimenting'.
I didn't see much experimenting. I saw the exact same game plan and patterns as last season.
If we are 'experimenting' why not play guys like Joyce, White, Austin and Battle?
You cant play a full mature side in the JLT and then say oh its only JLT.
Seriously. This is nonsense.

This post is hilarious!
0-6 for the blues
Not saying we’ve been great but the experts calling the rise of Carlton off the back of JLT must surely be eating some humble tasting pie now
I stick by my prediction - Carlton will be bottom 4

Yea Cripps is a jet no doubt.
Mind you I do feel the commentators wet themselves over Dow and at this early stage coff has shown a lot more. Dow, whilst reasonably composed, looks like a boy in a mans game

How good is it to finally watch a saints player with composure and skill? Coffs is a beauty and I think Clarke will go ok to....if they let him play more than 1 game in row...MC Gusto wrote:Yea Cripps is a jet no doubt.

Oh don’t get me wrong I think Clarke will be an absolute gun. Will be an extremely valuable player with classy disposal from both sides. Just that coff has looked more at home in this (very) early stage
And yes the blues are putrid!

Re: Carlton Premiership in 2018
Carlton seem to have a way to go, and their veterans, Kruezer, Murphy, etc are nearly out the door. Their GWS invasion is not working out as well as they thought at this stage. However, they have an absolute gun in Cripps, and a future A grader in Curnow, and Mckay looks good. Also Fisher. We would be ahead but not as much as some think.
0- 6 very satisfying though.

Pre-season form means diddly squat like every season. So much for the Blues being ahead of the Saints on their re-build. Where are those people now? Lol!!!!

Where are ya Drakey?Drake Huggins wrote: ↑Sun 11 Mar 2018 2:15pm Well, Carlton are ahead of us. List and development wise. Won't win the flag but in the mix for a mediocre finish with us. Set to zoom past us in the next two years.
