Time to turn toxic

Post: # 1734260Post ss1986 »

Arsenal managed to remove Arsene Wenger, a veritable barnacle on their club this year by incessant protests that ultimately started costing the club money.

We need to turn it toxic to force change.

Email, message, boycott, do whatever to hurt this Board.

AFL will always bail out the club so fk it- use it against them.

And even if they dont, the way we are going, we’ll be the Launceston Saints or the St.Kilda Suns by 2020 anyway.

Agree.

We need someone to come up with serious money and a total over-haul. A completely new regime.

Otherwise the club is doomed and will have to drop down to the VFL. Either merger or re-location is on the cards.

I question the judgement of the president and the board to rush in and extend the contract of a coach who basically hasn't delivered anything.
It was a foolish decision and indicates we have incompetence in the board room as well as in the coaches box.

TV kept showing El Presidente juxtaposed to EL Serene Capitain de Coaches. No need to get more toxic than that more than a thousand words tableau. Richo is cactus - termino. Brave man that steps up after though. Ridicule is one thing Presidents cannot forgive and tonight he (like us and the club generally) was ridiculed by the first quarter. The pressure and social discomfort of the situation must be intolerable. Robbo is likely to call Gerard and ask how the heck do we handle Mondays Coaches session - it will be as raw as public shaming gets. They may even ask him to beg off.

I’m fascinated as to how 360 will play out on Monday night. Two professionals; I cant see them letting him off the hook easily. Only Chris Scott’s presence may help ease the burn of the spotlight.

I like Richo, I do. I am always a bit heartbroken to watch someone go through this... no matter what club.

But it needs to be done- or we are dead.

folks are saying that on Level 2, members were getting up and leaving at half time. Is that true? because on TV, the crowd noise was echoing and it seemed to be far less than 27k (official number)

Perhaps the supporters need to organise a rally before a game?

Cue Twisted Sister "we're not gonna take it" and bring broomsticks to the next home game. We need to send these nobodies packing and restore some guts and pride to the club.

A few things:
Does anyone know if any members have cancelled or suspended their membership this season? Not before the season started but as a consequence of our horror run?
I couldn't believe how quickly the crowd thinned out tonight and then how quiet it was at times in the final quarter. I said to the person I go with it's like the fans had given up. That's not a criticism by any means, just an observation. I felt similar.
Has anyone started a crowd-funding page - more as a urine-taking exercise - to have Richardson's contract paid out?
And do we really think the board will sack Richardson when that would be an admission of failure on their part and mean they'd have to thrown themselves on their sword as well given they engineered such a disastrous and costly situation?

Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

We have reserved seats on level 1 and looking at the bays near us I would say that half of the Saints reserved seat members had left by three quarter time and some after half time.
I have never seen so many leave that early and I went through the 80’s when we rarely won a match.

We sit on Lvl 2 and the bays around us (37/38/39) saw quite a number leave at half time and many more at 3/4 time.

Good to hear.

Someone posted that there is a 3 month payout clause in Richo’s contract. So sack him either now or wait for the bye week and do it then. Pointless keeping him until end of season.

Put in an interim coach (Kingsley or Hammil) and then we have a good few months before trade week to find a replacement coach.

We need to send the message out loud and clear that BIG change is coming. Could exit Trout with Richo, may as well.

I’m glad we’ve finally reached this juncture. The Richmond and WCE games concerned me as it created some false dawns. But the sky is jet black now and the clouds are loaded.

We sit on lvl 2, went to the bay at half time and stayed there, as did many others

constant text messages and emails to "get to the game". And thats what we are dished up. McVeigh cuts us up every time we play them. FFS make him accountable dont let him run around on his own in our forward line. Made me sick watching him just standing out the back waiting for the easy one. I am not a coach but that was freaking bloody obvious
