So what does that actually mean Tony?
Is the coach gone?
If what I’m hearing around the corridors and from very reliable people is true (and I have no reason not to trust these people) when the season begins next year coach, assistants, support staff and admin will be totally different. Jumper and name will be the same. A big,big broom is coming.
Needs to happen sooner rather than later so we don’t start 2019 playing catch up. New regime needs to be in place well and truly in time for trade and draft period and pre-season start. This year is a write off so sooner rather than later.
If what Jaxons is saying is true and there is a marketing heavy hitter lining up a ticket for a board challenge as the precursor to other staffing changes, when can that happen? Does it have to wait until the AGM? No point farting about with Summers, Richo and co until season’s end.
I hope and assume anyone worth their salt in lining up for regime change will take all that into account.

i'd be hoping the first 'thing' the new broom brings is a locked-in MAJOR Sponsor who drops shiploads of cash into our coffers over an extended locked-in period of time

until thats nailed down
whats the point ?

tony and others - if the coach is gone already, why not cut him loose now, rather than wait until the end of the year?

An interim coach can be installed - it can only do good, if for no other reason that the inevitable change is “visible” to the public

well , whats the point of taking the joint over then

change costs money

'they' are taking over the joint to execute change

no good just being the new street savvy Dept of Propaganda selling us another Dream

surely that can't be on the agenda

so ... where's the money !!

for this coming jugganaut of Players Pencilpushers and Premierships

otherwise

whats the point ?

No point firing a coach mid season as we will not have anyone to replace him. Simon Lethlean will be doing deals behind closed doors for the best outcome of the club, its what he does.

Many options available and they have pros and cons.

Fire the coach and pay him approx $1m we don't have. Not ideal. Then we get in another coach we can afford. It can't be anyone good we just lost a $1m we don't have.
That coach becomes the saviour. Awesome. The coach is not much better. Waste of time and money. Both are realistic outcomes

Richo stays for another season. Good news is we get great draft picks and rebuild again and don't pay out $1M. Bad news is no new fans are attracted and membership/ crowds dwindle. We lose more than $1 mill in lost revenue. But we have time to prepare a strategy and hopefully get a great coach and get the best out of our players.

Either decision will be seen as good or bad from various fans. Best outcome is Richo leaves with no payout but that wont happen. Would you give up a mill if you had a family to support and a mill secures their future. Father/Husband first, coach second. I hope our idiots that extended his contract put in a win loss ratio/performance clause so that if he doesn't deliver he goes. But I doubt it.

How does that affect us financially, do we still have to pay out all these contracts? Or not if they're perfoamnce based?

If the notice period is three months we only have to pay Richo $150k.
Just do it.

Serious comedy. Champagne comedy this bloke.
We've just been 'a bit flat' in the 11 games since then.

Absolutely there’s a point in firing him mid-season.....i.e now or after the GC game. It’s a statement that we don’t accept the absolute garbage we’re being dished up and we intend to change it. The longer Richo goes on delivering empty messages about having an opportunity to make amends for rubbish performances, the more a parody he and the club become.

Richo should stay. He is not the main issue. I reckon its some of the assistants and players that should be the most nervous and are to blame. Richo can coach, he just hasn't been backed up enough by those under him. Its a real shame because they did for the most part the previous 4 years. My word is the players do like and support him, but they just don't seem capable of translating it onto the field at the moment.

It obviously won't fit the narrative of the "Sack Richo" mob but there it is.

Sorry but Sydney are not an 'outstanding' footy team.
They are a good footy team. THAT IS ALL.
They currently sit 3rd. Last year 6th.
The definition of 'outstanding' is 'exceptionally good'. How can the side sitting 3rd meet that definition?

Seriously Richo is always dropping excuses. Always. Whenever we get smashed (which is frequently) he calls the other side 'outstanding'. It is BS. Way too much respect for other teams. We are not an under 12s side. Harden up.

“Your word”.........Source? How do you know the players like and support him?
He’s an empty track suit when it comes to leadership. Blaming everyone but him will only perpetuate the leadership vacuum we have.

2 articles from the age for one. I believe Ross and Dunstan - 2 x senior players.

Plus I won't reveal in full from what I have heard and beeen told, but they do support him. Still doesn't mean he might get the sack before the end of his contract though. Richo has really been let down this year and the heat is obviously turning up on him which is fair enough too.

F*** if we keep losing like that...

There is no way known he will still be coaching at the end of the year.

NO WAY KNOWN.

Doesn't matter how much the players love him.

To be fair though ParkeySainter, a good coach makes them translate it after 4 years in charge.

Eventually, the maths just don't lie.

Bumping this thread because the last couple of wins have had me thinking about whether Richo will continue on. I don't think he will. Two things come to mind;

1. His pressers after our wins to GC and last night don't sound like a guy who is excited about the future. How can you be when you don't know if you'll be working at StKilda or anywhere else in AFL next year

2. tony74's post above
