The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Memories of Barry Hall to Sydney. The flag the Swans with him is tainted and worthless. Gaff should hang his boots up and retire now. The sight of that young Dockers player after the incident was heartbreaking. The fact that Gaff kept playing and the fights that broke out after the incident must speak to the need for a red card rule.

This is the worst overreaction I have seen on Gaff. Totally disagree with every sentence in this post except the first, that is was appalling, and that it was heartbreaking for the young docker.

To suggest you would forego a flag rather than recruit Gaff, for him to retire and that Sydney's flag is tainted and worthless is just complete dribble.

Just ban the administrators for life. These incidents don't come from nowhere. Free kick the first off the ball bump or push and the agro between players and teams is not allowed to develop to a level where one throws a punch. And I mean before play begins and after every score.

Stevie Baker should get at least a season suspension for this incident.

Disgusted at West Coast coach Adam Simpson.
It is the coach's job to identify that one of his players is being targeted by the opposition.
The coach should issue instructions to his other players to protect Gaff and stand up for the targeted player.
Without that protection eventually Gaff struck out.

After the incident it was clear that Gaff was going to be mugged at every opportunity including late hits.
West Coast already had the game in the bag.
Simpson could have sat Gaff out for the rest of the game.
Instead the selfish coach sent his player back out to get mugged.
Despicable as Gaff's punch was it was matched in despicablilty by his coach's treatment of him.

We can't offer Gaff a premiership.
But we can offer him protection.
Protection that he did not get from Simpson & West Caost
We can also offer big money.

It is not like those squibs have got anything else to do like play football.

Mother was at the game.
Saw that her son had a broken jaw and four displaced teeth.
Would love to be a fly on the wall when the mother corners Gillon.
Her handbag may contain lead weights.

Totally true - which is why we simply need to pay overs for some guns - and by that I mean genuine overs.
Hell... I'd throw a million bucks a year at Nic Nat for 10 years just for the membership boost and I'd be doing everything I can to snatch Pick 1 from GC and land Lakocious

Simpson :

“All I know is that Andrew is quite upset; he's really thinking about Brayshaw and Brayshaw's family. He's not feeling great at the moment,” he said.
“One thing I know is that Andrew's character and who he is as a person and a player - can't be questioned. We're working through it and what will be, will be.
“I can't really comment on the incident, as much as it is going to look as though it was intentional, I'm not really sure it was.”

Not intentional. Ok.

His intention was to break his eye socket not his jaw?
Was he swatting a fly?
Just a feeble attenpt at a downgrade from Intentional high force to unintentional.....ridiculous from Simpson

Brayshaw's brother and mum will be thrilled if Gaff lands at Melbourne. Will make for a full and frank discussion on his arrival.

Actually there is another Brayshaw brother - Hamish Brayshaw - who also plays for West Coast Eagles, I wonder how things are panning out there at West Coast, might be a bit of friction.

One of the most distressing and disgraceful things I've seen on the footy field.

Might also be timely to have a look at the ugly (and generally tolerated) tactic of whacking people in the guts and chest all game long. Not an impressive part of our game and not something junior footballers should be aspiring to do.

Lol you are funny parkey.

You hear something on the radio or read an article then post on here like you have inside information.

I’d bet we haven’t even spoken to Hannerberry or his manager but now we are a chance because of an article in the HS yesterday suggested we should target him.

Keep up the good work parkey, I enjoy your posts.
Read my post properly moron.

Plus I don't read any printed papers or have a HS subscription so I have no idea what article you're talking about.
Moron???

Is there need for personal abuse?

Would you walk up to me and call me a moron to my face? No you would not!

Please show the same courtesy on this forum you would show me in public.
He might tell you that you have made a Gaff and then give you a Gaff.

I hope that Brayshaw returns to full health soon. That was shocking and unacceptable behaviour where I reckon he deserves the harshest of sanctions.

That said... I hope we still get him and I think this incident has paved the way for him to get to us - He can't keep playing with the other Brayshaw in the team, he won't go to Melbourne because of Angus. This may reduce his currency from a cost-perspective and it will make it easier to get him from a relations-perspective. He's never done anything like this before and i doubt he ever will again. Also, the fact that he definitely won't be winning a Brownlow will certainly reduce his overall trade-value. I wouldn't want to be walking around W.A if I were Gaff.

If he gets the biggest of whacks (7 weeks and over) and can't possibly feature again this year then I'm tipping that he'll be on the next plane back to Melbourne.

Time for the Saints to be controversial (In a positive way for the club) and get it done. Not everyone will agree with me but that's what a forum is all about.

If you give away a stupid free you soon stop or get dragged by the coach.

I still remember the days when Alan Davis would use the time after a goal had been scored to sling an opponent to the ground.
He knew the only field umpire would not see him because the umpire was running back to the centre of the ground.
The goal and boundary umpires would see but it was insufficient for them to report him.
But it was a disgraceful look, surely I was not the only saints supporter who was ashamed of it.
Then there was the potential for the opponent to get back up and knock Davis into the grandstand or for an all in fist fight to develop.
The one thing that seems to be forgotten in those incidents is the only winners are the other clubs not involved in the match.

Interesting. My money is on him staying put.

Never a chance anyway. Gaff might not be the same player after his coward slog on an 18 year old kid.
