Can someone post the link that skips the paywall?

In addition could they post this article as well?

Well if they went by that we would be a good chance to take Smith. Club rumoured to prefer Max though.

Ranking points have always disadvantaged tall marking players and forwards in particular. The only talls in the top-20 for average ranking points this year were Grundy, Gawn and Stefan Martin. The others were 2 general defenders (Jake Lloyd, Rory Laird) and 15 mids, who I'm not going to list. Seb Ross was higher ranked than any key forward. As was Kade Simpson.

I would also argue that CD including bottom-aged seasons in their ratings likely disadvantages talls relative to the smalls. I don't think it would be particularly controversial to argue that guys like Walsh, Rankine and Rozee would have been further along in their development in 2017. I'd have much preferred they just rank the players based on this year. That means a small sample, particularly for guys that missed a lot of time with injury like Caldwell, Max King or Bailey Smith. I'm not sure how much we care about stat-based analysis across a bunch of comps of disparate level of quality anyway.

He is ours for the taking.

Is Rankine really the only one that you could expect to be playing seniors round one?

Best Player available ?

Post: # 1767133Post the dome »

Today I randomly peered into the back of the murdochian fake news rag & saw an alternative version of the top 4 assumed picks for next week.
Rankine named @ #1 followed by Walsh & Smith/ I think & then Luka @ #4
In this scenario Luka may well be the best available @ pick 4.
If this eventuates then there emerges the conundrum of Luka vs Maxy.
I can only wish our recruiters are in inspired form when the time comes.

Good luck to all Sainters out there hoping for the best .
