Must grab marlion pickett, I know they have spoken to him as I stated some time ago. If they can grab him then the saints midfield will go from average to good and that means a couple of more wins and possible scrape into the 8, Parker will also make a midfielder as well. Just need a big forward to kick 50 goals for the year. These blokes have more ability than some of the current lot and are tough and fast.

I agree re Pickett.

I'd like two forwards to kick 50+ next year though.

Should have taken Kossie at 47 perhaps.
Do we really need another defender?

So we've also added

- Nicholas Hind, Essendon VFL
- Robert Young, North Adelaide SANFL.

That makes 3/5 draftees mature aged recruits.

Real late pick.
Maybe one in the rookie draft LATE this evening.

Maybe they were thinking Rookie instead. We'll wait and see.

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

A good one? Sure. We're going to need to replace Nathan Brown soon and we've just lost Hugh Goddard.

Gresh can get 30-40 and maybe Membrey and Bruce 30-40 each. I cant see any other forward getting more than 30. Billings is capable but depends how they play him.

Young is a small forward, if it is the one I am thinking of. If so where will he fit, we already have long and Lonie at 70kg each?

Edit: Just went to Freo.
St kilda could have selected him if they didn't trade 26 for 36 and 46!
WHY would you trade away 26?
It make no sense to me at all.
It was pick 26 before free agency compensation but became pick 28
So we traded away pick 28
Pick 28 became pick 33 on the day.
Pick 36 became pick 41 on the day.
Pick 46 became pick 47 on the day.
So we got Jack Bytel and Matthew Parker but could have taken any one of these players instead if the trade had not been made
James Jordan
Bailey Wiiliams
Thomas Berry
Laitham Vandermeer
Irving Mosquito
Thomas Joyce

Luke Valente went at pick 32 one pick too earlier so would not have been available.
If you wish to criticise the trade with the benefit of hindsight you must nominate which of the 6 players you would have taken instead Bytel AND Parker

We have around 47 players across the senior and rookie lists.
You can not even fit them all in at both St Kilda and Sandringham unless there are injuries.
We may suffer a few during the year.

Reasonable belief that Longy wont be just a small forward by the end of next year.

Gotta be frank and say that I cant see him playing in any other position than half forward flank or the pocket and that is at his best. If you are thinking about the midfield then you must know a lot more than me. Hope he kicks on ….We finished 15th this year and now all of a sudden we have a wealth of midfielders. Hannebery, steele, ross, Armitage, steven, clark, Gresham, possibly long, dunstan maybe coffield and that is not counting recruits. Be a few that are going to be disappointed.

No. 11 recons we were keen on a player that Adelaide got, but that was at 30... it is not at all obvious that any of those 6 would have been above Bytel, so i would guess that the trade worked out but it is always a gamble!

Lets see how Bytel goes... I recon he is a chance if he gets that back right
