At the age of 74 now, I've realised that I won't see the Saints win their next flag. It's simply too difficult to build a flag-winning squad, even for when well-run clubs like Geelong (8 years since last GF) Collingwood (last flag 9years ago) Adelaide (last flag 1998) Sydney (last flag 7 years ago) Squads of players such as we had in the 2003-2010 period aren't assembled easily (to say the least) and quite frankly, the Saints are MILES away from even making finals. Does this make me want to stop supporting the club? NO WAY!! I still remember "The ride of your life" in 2001....... so folk should really be used to "false dawns" by now  I know its disappointing to not be where we were all hoping to be, but the season isn't over yet so I'm still optimistic that we can finish 2019 in a better ladder position than last year.

But on the other hand the Dogs (with a fairly ordinary list) came from nowhere with a late season charge to steal a flag. Similarly Richmond and West Coast went into the finals in their premiership years as (at best) 3rd favourites before romping home.

We have an injury list that only Melbourne could get close to, but are still 5-6 at the half way mark.
If we can get some luck with injuries next year and some of the kids step up a level - then the 20-20 vision might become a reality.

So hang in there Jiggster.

I hear you Jigster, but the club needs to move on from accepting false dawns and start drawing lines in the sand.

No one is saying that we’ll stop barracking for the club, but no change will come if the status quo remains unchallenged.

Until we have an administration that demands success and a playing group that bleeds for the guernsey, St. Kilda will just be a sh*tty football club.

But how do you propose to mount that challenge?
