Either Ratts or Mitchell for the top job, you'd have to think.

Was Sam Mitchell interviewed?

Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

Is there a title? Or will he be a wandering manager, with no fixed portfolio?

“Roughead will be with St Kilda for at least the next three years working across list management, the club’s leadership and mentoring program, performing a match day role and working with some of the club’s emerging key position players.”

I reckon this sounds pretty handy.
It's handy if you want a carrot top to be a cheerleader.

Again, great guy, but what is he in charge of other than being an additional talking head?

Remember Billy Slater from NRL? He was credited with the improved tackling in the first few rounds. And then tackling dropped right off starting with the Adelaide game. By the end of the season, it was bruise free footy.

Again, I am not against the guy. I just find the announcement to be more about getting Roughy in rather than a fully formed role, eg welfare officer, forward coach, assistant list manager, etc.

If he was, it’s been kept quiet

Sounds good to me - few other clubs were hoping to get him.

Hodge has been handy for Brisbane working with ex hawk Fagan, roughy would be a great combo with ratts/Mitchell

Maybe the List of those sought out has not been fully divulged

There may be one, involved with a side still in contention, who has received no coverage

My info remains that the successful candidate has been advised

And we may see confirmation next week, or the week after, depending

Roughy just announced he will play on in 2020.

In a statement Roughead said “F-ck it, if Ryder is worth a two year deal at the Saints I might as well play on for another 3 years” he went on to say “I was going to ask for a two year deal, but thought f-ck it, if they can give three years to some fat guy with tats from Melbourne who I’ve never heard of and five to Hannas why not go for three.

“I spoke to Ratts and he just laughed and said we’ll swap a future 2nd rounder for you, how much coin do you want? So here I am a Saint”.

His ability to kick arses might be more important in 2020.
