Any Coverage of this Week's Game Against Hawks?
It seems there is no coverage of this week's game in Morwell against the Hawks.
I think it is strange that it is schedule on same day as as the State of Origin match, both matches for the bush fires.

Re: Any Coverage of this Week's Game Against Hawks?
I think that's the reason behind the scheduling actually. They have arranged for our game to take place at 430pm where they will have the state of origin up on a big screen for a live viewing. Pretty cool idea - especially for those living in and around Morwell.
What’s happening
2pm: Next Generation Academy Practice match
4.30pm: Hawthorn v St Kilda practice match
3.30pm - 8.00pm: BankVic Emergency Services Fan Zone including:
- Emergency Services vehicles
- Food trucks run by local traders
- Visit from Hawka and Hawkette
- Kids' activities
- HawksNest
- Giveaways
7.50pm: AFL State of Origin match
Big screens will be located on the live site to watch the AFL State of Origin Match. Feel free to bring along picnic rugs or small chairs and settle in for a good night.

It’s utterly ridiculous that it’s not on Foxtel/Kayo.
Not so much their fault as the Marsh series is only 2 games per team not 3 which was the case pre AFLX rubbish.
Given a few clubs are organising scratch matches it’s a shame we can’t have third Marsh game with shorter quarters, more subs etc - the clubs don’t necessarily want to play 4 normal length quarters and have a defined number of Subs - maybe a five or six quarter game with shorter quarters would work better given the games are essentially training drills

If you can, please get to the game. Morwell oval is first class facility and can comfortably cater for around 6000. Remember, this match is a fundraiser with proceeds donated to the Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund (GERF). GERF is genuinely a volunteer-operated organisation with all donations reaching there target destinations.
If you have driven through East Gippsland beyond Bairnsdale and Orbost in the last few weeks you will understand how desperately funds are needed with a number of small communities heavily impacted.

It’s a shame the comedian’s fundraiser wasn’t directed towards this or other direct causes.Trev from the Bush wrote: ↑Wed 26 Feb 2020 8:30am If you can, please get to the game. Will be a very interesting game. Basically the whole team will be different. Only Connolly and (Gresh and Hilly) are unavailable.
Everyone who didn’t play last Thursday will get a game. Even big Sam Alabakis.

Thanks Tony, I have serviced the old ute and will be at Morwell bright and early for a good watch. Promises to be a carnival atmosphere, which will be great.

This in itself will be fascinating. Last season at the start of year he looked raw (well awful actually) and so with a year of development into him it will be interesting to see if he is starting look like a footballer and moreso if he has developed any rucking skills.

Whoever goes, I would really love your opinions on Nick Hind and how he plays, I am keen on him earning a regular spot.

I'll try and give updates from Morwell. I'll call it as I see it, no debate required from posters who are not there.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Thu 27 Feb 2020 6:55pm Whoever goes, I would really love your opinions on Nick Hind and how he plays, I am keen on him earning a regular spot.

Overcast and showery 20 minutes before the bounce at Morwell with a sizable crowd building. Playing surface looks magnificent.

Half time Hawks 4.4 Saints 1.6. Scores say it all, not playing for sheep stations. Our forward line is being manned by players who would never get a game there.

Did you want to give us a run down on the newbies?
I couldn't make it. I got called out of country.
I saw both lists and it seems any real assessment wi be tough with players in odd/new roles, lacking other starters to feed, rebound etc.
Last week players like Butler looked decent but throw him into this week's team without the same supporting cast and I reckon we'd see a different player.
I think Marsh [ corrected- I meant Marsh but typed Marshall] this kind of player, on his own he falls short but in a group of decent players he adds value. But early days on him- just a thought.
