As I have just put on another thread, distraction versus consistency and image not consistent with consistency

Time will tell

Then testing and tracking (repeat, repeat, repeat. The full stop being infinity or at least until numbers are Zero or a vaccine is available

This was listed as a Pandemic by the WHO on 11 March because of the alarming spread and the alarming lack of action

Alarming being the WHO description

And here we are on 20 March, still making daily adjustments to policy saying things are changing rapidly

From Corporate Banking, you always stress test - so you always have a fall back position, second and third ways out

These rules don’t apply if you are tackling or bumping though!

You know... Coronavirus makes an exception for those cases!

Well the Liberal Party, the National Party, the Liberal National Party assisted by Hanson, Palmer and Katter (particularly in Queensland) won just enough seats to govern

Plus the media continually told us how unpopular the Opposition Leader was

And here we are, with the Qantas CEO’s best mate Scomo and a Job Seekers Allowance (previously Unemployment Benefits)

Mind you the TEA Party (taxed enough already) and guns have given us Trump

And “Brexit” has given us Johnson

What will be really interesting is if (hopefully) Trump is beaten in November given he remains President until January

Stand by!!!!

False election and the result is rigged

I declare myself President for life

Perhaps we could sing the victory song with all players in a ring 2 metres apart, and using sign language to reduce emissions?

I sort of hope a player gets COViD-19 so the season shuts down.

Unfortunately we have a gutless PM who should’ve shut down the AFL and NRL by now.

In times of a Pandemic, Democracy ceases and we should be run like a dictatorship- just like Singapore.

Of course, we all know that all players and officials at games are geotracked 24/7 so we can keep an eye on their whereabouts and social distances measures etc.

being ‘run’ from the top down
... doesn’t work that well

pronouncements from on high
are worth the weakest link in the chain

coal face up ... is where the commitment to pronouncement incubates
or revolution festers

saying you’re committed to ‘public service’
‘n actually BEING committed to public service
are differing ends of the one stick

hopefully , this affair solidifies the difference
for the cannon fodder

Note late last night, from 'Cuz of the Cohort';

"Pies thumping Dogs and down to last minute.
Commentator says the boys wont be huddling singing the club song tonight because of the virus....
"Which seems a little incongruous seeing they have been......" in quote of the night.
Siren.
All bunch up sweating, wiping, spitting, rubbing faces, arms, hair, head, no hand shakes but fist bumping, pumping, elbowing circulating of the group. Quite a few whooppsies touching. On ground media interviews at 10 paces separation. Into rooms rubbing. No camera in the warm down room. No BT. Home in isolation.
Of course not forgetting the Doggies coach and the pre game prep talk. All huddled up cheek to jowl on the benches.
The media the only ones really observing some separation, no doubt because of station directives.
But no one asked anyway whether this playing is good idea.
Flogging AFL Stock Exchange."

Just so much damn incongruity, eh Bwuce?

What's with the shortened games? Is there a point I'm missing?

Money. Reduce the outgoings like player payments, ground costs etc while still generating some cash in from media and sponsorship deals.

Nothing to do with money.
It’s to reduce the load on players as it is likely they will need to play more matches in any period.
This might be 4 day breaks or 3 matches in 10 days.

Another recent note to the cohort;

"This is a clear example of the ramifications of the farce created by assigning outsized influence to a coupla select groups of blokes, so they can continue to earn, by running around, bangin’ into each other, and swapping secreeeeeeeeeeeeetions;

https://www.theage.com.au/politics/fede ... 54chw.html

"Iconic Sydney beaches closed as restrictions enforced amid coronavirus crisis

Bondi Beach has been temporarily closed amid confusion over the NSW government's attempts to enforce a limit of 500 people on the beach, as the state experiences the biggest jump in the number of confirmed novel coronavirus cases to date.

Waverley Council also closed Bronte and Tamarama beaches on Saturday afternoon after NSW Police Minister David Elliott said the NSW government would enforce restrictions on crowds at beaches, with lifesavers withdrawing from the iconic beach and alerting police where crowds exceed that number….

The council announced the temporary closure of the beaches on Saturday afternoon after Mr Elliott condemned people visiting Bondi Beach after thousands of beachgoers descended on the beach last week.

"It is with a significant level of disappointment that we have to move today to not only remove people from Bondi Beach, but use this as an opportunity to remind everybody that the Health Act must be complied with,” he said.

"What we saw this morning at Bondi Beach was the most irresponsible behaviour of individuals that we’ve seen so far.”…………….
"What happened in Bondi was unacceptable, and the local council must take steps to stop that from occurring," Mr Hunt told reporters in Melbourne on Saturday.
"This is all of our responsibility, each of us ... I would say to everybody, we are all in this together."…."

OH, NO ‘WE’ AIN’T, CHAMP!!!

“..Mr Elliott said beachgoers had been moved on after thousands crowded the beach on Saturday, flouting safety measures restricting non-essential gatherings to 500 people…..”

Ah, makes sense. I would've thought it better to extend the benches and maintain the normal length of games, given there will be no VFL games.

Its going to be hard to win if you have a bad start under the shortened games.

It is a different game with 16 minute quarters. The usual ebb and flow of the game is different and reduced. If you get on top early, you will usually win.

Yup...cause it's all about money. It's all about money. It's all about money.
