1. Plugger - miss the old Moorabbin days with the big man at full forward

2. Nicky Winmar - I have a signed footy record with “9” circled the day he kicked a bag against Melbourne at the G

3. Jason Heatley - loved watching him in 97 at Waverley, beautiful kick

4. Lenny - who doesn’t love Lenny

5 - G train - footy was fun with Gehrig rolling out from full forward

6. Harves - possibly the best player I’ve seen. Seriously underrated by the broader AFL community

7. Stewart Loewe - a star player through the 90s I loved watching

8. Spider - loved him in the 90s

9. Rod Keogh - the day he flattened Mil Hanna at Waverley was a footballing highlight

10. Kossie - in my view he could have been as good a player as Roo but for injury. Only need to watch the YouTube video from the 4 game streak when he had mobility to see how dominant he could be. Finished more as a GOP but I was a huge fan

and that's the bottom line

Yes, Rod Keogh deserves a mention. Toughest dude around, and very underrated in my view.

Had a beer with him one night at Trannies too, and he was a great guy,

Fantastic list there ....all of them are of course. I'm guessing Beno you are about 30-35? Not that is any of my business.
Except Lazar makes me think you might be older..lol

Can't believe no-one found a spot in their top 10 for BJ.
How different things would've been if we had've held on in either '09 or '10 GF's.
Was at least the equal of Lenny in drawn GF and pretty good in '09 as well!

Comes back to favourites Whiskers. Seems a hard player / bloke to like if he's not playing for your club. Excellent player and proud to call him a Saint.

I forgot all about G -Train. Apologies to Burkey. If both were playing at the same time on different grounds, I'm going to watch Fraser.

Fair enough and that's probably the reason Stewart was not held in higher regard.
Goddard like Buckley set extraordinarily high standards for himself but also expected others to adhere to them.
Probably seen as too serious or stuck up, wish we had a few more like him!

Yep, he was another solid player. Reminds me of a Mitch Robinson type.

Remember Peckett racing down between wing and center and handballling to him in '97, then incredibly Peckett just kept ploughing on and presenting for a relay-return, but instead Keogh hand balled to big Barry who kicked truly. Alas, we know what happens next - or in my high superstitious opinion - it was when Heatley hit the post, an ominous crack, like a bone breaking, could be heard in the heavens. But now I am going off track! yes, Keogh was great and I was surprised when we lost him.

Could Parker ever become that kind of player?

Haha thanks, close on the age, Gordon Fode's number is on the money.

I loved Lazar as a kid. I was terrified of him, so the fact he was on our team was fantastic! I still firmly believe that had he not done his ACL is Round 22 1997, we'd have 2 flags. Jarman would have been in a coma by the 10 minute mark of the third quarter and Adelaide probably would have finished the game with about 10 fit players.

I have many in common with others - lockett, lenny, winmar, aussie jones - but the one missing so far for mine would be Barry Hall. I loved him when he was ours.

I notice a few have John Mcintosh in their faves
a tremendous player who finished in the top 5 in the Brownlow in his two years at the club ,I believe 2nd in one of them he could play either end CHF/CHB and could ruck rove or ruck no issue
around 6”3 from memory ,I remember watching him at training when he was our new big recruit & he hadn’t played a game could kick drop kicks either foot 50 + metres the only player I ever remember doing that so agile for a big man cut down in his prime by a knee injury we would have won in 71 if he had have been able to play!Could have been one of the greats had a serious amount
of ability!

In answer to your question, Shane, not in a pink fit.

Was already one of the greats when he finally landed at StKilda after originally signing with us in the mid sixties. He came as a ruckman but was undersized and struggled. Soon found his mojo when he went back an as a somewhat tall HFF. I'll always remember him swinging onto his left foot with a low trajectory drop kick and hitting up a team mate 50 metres away. He was the complete footballer ( his son Ashley was pretty damned good too).
