Collingwood might well point to a non-decision that cost them the 2018 GF, and then there is always Harms infamous knock in a life time ago that cost another. It was a goal umpire that screwed us in 2007. And cheating is hard to prove unless you work in the control room at Crown. Back human error/incompetence most times over cheating and you will get paid, its not sinister its just how these things go. Unfortunately.

Blind Freddy can see that the umpires clearly dislike Toby Green and refuse to pay him free kicks. It was the same with Adam Schneider and Steven Baker. It is blatant cheating and the AFL must hold these umpires to account, or worse still perhaps it's a directive from the AFL, and us fans must call out the injustice.

This!!!! Umpires can choose to pay a free when the ball is clearly also marked, pay a free when it is inconsequential, or pay a free directly in front 20 out. It is not the numbers - it is the ones missed and that is coming from an ex-umpire.

HOWEVER - if you have to hang your hat on getting an armchair ride - you are cooked.

I watch the footy, like most here, with one eye - and complain about the umpiring, but in the cold light of day, I firmly believe that poor umpiring is only a small indicator of a teams performance. In the past, we have caused more issues handballing to a stationary player, or worse still behind them.

I want for the day when we are so strong as a club and also as a group of players that we win against the opposition and the umpires (if you feel that there is a vendetta).

Go back to the Richmond game and the two decisions that stick out for me were the mark paid to Astbury when Marsh clearly had the first bite and the one not paid to Carlisle when he clearly took both bites. Should we be counting marks as well.

Then there’s the little things like free kicks where they don’t pay advantage and actually penalise the team. Or they do pay advantage and we add another free to the tally even though the blowing of the whistle didn’t help the team at all.

And what about setting the mark? Have a look at Geary’s first goal. The umpire did him a huge favour and he ended up kicking the ball from where he marked it.

Counting frees is just stupid.

I used to be an umpire basher..then I grew up.

If we are good enough we win games despite poor decisions, umpires make mistakes and so do the players , incessantly banging on about umpires will only give you ulcers
and will not change the result.

Umpiring conspiracy theories are so old hat and do nothing but clog Footy forums.
