Long time since we consistently scored well. What a refreshing change after the Richo years where 7 goals was common.

Kicking so many from close in and walking.
Not having kick 'em from the boundary and no yippers.

I’ve been very impressed with King’s set shots too, nice to see a forward who can kick the ones he should!

It’s been surprising as set shots were the knock on him

Richo is delivering for the Dees now.

Pleasing.

Even during our halcyon days 1961-1973 and 1997-2011 we were teams which built our strength on our uncompromising ability to defend and dominate through physical pressure.

We have never been like the Tigers 1967-1982, North Melbourne 1990-2000, or Geelong 1989 - 2014 which were high scoring teams.

That is why, for a relatively unsuccessful club, our greatest winning margins against our opponents are surprisingly very good across the board, compared to some of our rivals.

Very nice straight action. I reckon Roughy is smiling very smuggly at home right now. Our forward line is coming on very nicely.

We will finish round 9 in 3rd place ahead of teams like West Coast, Geelong, Richmond and Collingwood to name a few with more than half the season gone.

Soon, the so-called experts may take us seriously. During the week Kane Cornes named quite a few teams who could win the premiership including Melbourne and

Western Bulldogs but not St KIlda.

We are currently the highest ranked Victorian team.

Ah yes, Kane Cornes . Wonderfully unbiased , insightful* media commentator . His opinions always worth listening to. That’s it then, we must be cooked.

I noticed one of our players in an interview this week, talking about the “Forward Thirty” like it was a ‘zone’ used in the game plan. Perhaps theF50 has been deemphasized and we are really focused on getting it right up there as a starting point?

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Could be even further in front, if we hit more leading targets instead of bombing it high into the forward line.

I think we’ll get a few games on free to air tv in the next block of matches.

We are an excitement machine.

If we make finals, the Saints will be a danger team in a low scoring competition, because as we've seen if you can kick a few goals it means the other team has to catch up. Sure North and Freo did that but it does put you in the box seat and it is easier to go defensive towards the end rather than chase goals.

Time for goal-kicking practice
