Rumours and whispers getting around we are after him.

This is old news now.

thread started by Impatient Sainter last night as per post above by The_Dud

Impatient Sainter gave his source for the rumours. You have given us nothing.

If you have heard something and you can’t post who told you, then why bother apart from seeking attention

You blokes are unbelievable.

Anyone want to discuss Michael Hurley like adults?

Who?

And we are a chance. Rather Hurley over Carlisle for the next 3 years.

The questions are:

How old is he?

Is his body cooked?

Can he be of value as a key defender when most key forward these days are 197cm tall and above?

Is he a better option than Carlisle?

Why the hell would you want to enter discussions on a trade with the turd of all turds?

Methinks the coach is not too enamoured with Jake's less than 100% commitment to the contest at times and might be happy to take an offer for him from another club. Not sure this is the answer, though.

Howard is no 1 by a streak now. He takes the best forward every week now.

Hurley can take Carlisle's spot who is average.

Maybe Claravino is ready to go. The coaches would know if he is. He is one to watch too.

Would be extremely disappointed if true. Short sighted signing and in the game against us earlier this year I thought he looked out of shape and on his last legs. Man was huffing and puffing like an asthmatic.

Agreed. Good career by all means but he’s finished.

Carlisle is a much better choice

I was a fan of Michael Hurley a few years back, however, it would not make any sense to recruit him now.
His best footy is behind him, turns 31 next year plus he is not the big defender we need, as he is more of a zone off intercept marking defender.
In addition, he is on a big money contract at Essendon.
He also struggles in one on one marking contests, as does Carlisle.

Each to their own with Hurley but I trust our current admin in who they recruit and what they might do with Jake C.

Nonetheless, its good to discuss trade rumours and whispers in an adult way.

Much of what you are saying here was said when we were chasing Paddy Ryder.

Look how that turned out.

Hurley is a two time All Australian. He can play.

He was at a club that is universally recognised as a basket case. The change might be all he needs.

If we lose Carlisle and get a two time all Australian to replace him, it's a win I reckon.

Great points. I remember many Saints fans didn't like the Ryder pick up. A winning and good culture obviously rejuvenates players. Reminds of Brian Lake going to Hawthorn a bit too.

I would welcome him with open arms if we are really keen.
It is being discussed, in the other thread, the same thread where you got your info from to create your own “look at me look at me” thread, yet don’t even have the decency to reference it.

How you haven’t been banned again for trolling is beyond me.

You've posted nothing but two negative posts in this thread. It seems other posters can be adults and discuss the original topic which is all I am here for also or otyer posters don't get involved in the thread for whatever reason. And I get accused of causing trouble. Take a look in the mirror with your little gang.

Looks very much like the Ryder deal. Former AA who looks cooked at present club but age wise could have two years left in him.

We need another 200cm defender. Lynch and Hawkins are the benchmark of forwards. Howard struggled against Lynch. Hurley is too old and too small to compete with them. Unless we get offered way overs, I'd be hanging onto Carlise and start getting games into OC next year. There will be better options than Hurley down the track.
