They really showed us, making us wait three days with no comment. Free agency equivalence of the Adelaide power stance.

Really pathetic by Adelaide.

Talked the big talk about matching if not pick 2.
Then goes missing for 3 days for a non result.

I would be embarrassed if I was an Adelaide supporter, really looks like they just stayed in bed and tried to ignore what was happening.

Gotta be proud of our club

Still getting used to the idea that we are bossing it...staring down clubs...doing awesome deals...winning finals... .

What has happened to us ?!
I like it!

Glad we didn’t fold.... They got more than adequate compensation.....
Now we can use our first round pick , would have paid way over

I used to be supersaints but after 16 years my profile dissapeared... ??? if I make any reference to past posts .. it will be under supersiants.. glad to be back on line

The only embarrassing thing is that they took 3 days to match

It was the obvious decision considering they risked being left with a player on a long contract who didnt want to play for them

Welcome to the Saints Brad

Ricciuto's knob left hanging out of his shorts yet again.
Someone give him a jock strap and a face mask.

This is huge for us, picking up a very good AFL player as a FA.
We are now pissing with the big boys.

This is really a first, the last one I can remember was Nathan Brown and with no disrespect he was past his best though provided good service.

We got bent over in the Hannebery trade as it was clearly a salary dump for the Swans but our admin was trying to sell it as a big win for the club.

We are now attracting good AFL players like Crouch, Howard, Ryder, Hill, Butler and hopefully a couple more to come like Higgins & potentially another.

It would be a dream run if we could use our first rounder at the draft while bringing Higgins & Crouch onto the list.

I'd still love to grab Peter Wright as our back up forward ruck but feel he's probably too costly if not a walk up best 22 player.

If Hannas hamstrings are definitely better since that last surgery...we all of a sudden have a beast midfield

Great poker face saints!!!

“Ultimately, the risk versus reward of matching St Kilda’s offer and trying to force a trade, for say their first Round selection at pick 17, which might not eventuate, didn’t stack up.

If he is a crouch potato, plant him in the Moorabbin mud for a preseason and he will become highly productive potato.

For years I used to cringe wondering what stuff up our recruiters would inflict on us next.

Now I totally trust and respect their judgement without question.
And Crouch looks to be the next example of their brilliant "runs on the board" judgement.

Great job Saints. We're really building something special. Getting excited for 21! (Although won't be hard to top 20 in the scheme of things)

i wonder if there was a behind the scene deal regarding trading someone like Dunstan to them cheaply to get them to pass on it?

Luke Dunstan already forgotten despite being contracted for 2021.

I suspect he will be traded to Adelaide as part of the Crouch arrangement.

Unfortunately, Dunstan has never been able to consistently rack up the possessions like Seb Ross, who has been a regular 25+possesion winner in recent seasons. This is a feat that Dunstan only achieves once every 8 games or so. Its a pity, because he''s a very capable clearance player. It just means that his ability to spread from contests is not as high as it needs to be. IF Dunstan goes, I'll be disappointed for him. Wherever he goes, I hope he can forge a decent career for himself.

Lol there is no "Crouch arrangement". Free agency at its finest.

Unless it means we try to trade pick 23 away from them.

We offered what equals a reasonable market value contract, with injuries and his nose candy all taken into account. Lots of performance based components. It is a responsible contract.

Adelaide were never going to get pick two. Absolutely dilusional. Never ever. Never, ever, ever, ever.

The threats to match were almost offensive in the end. They expected us to assist them getting a better pick. I dont know, but in general we shouldnt be in the business of improving opposition clubs.

Welcome to the club Brad Crouch.
